Welcoming Waxing Poetic

waxing-poetic-intro-coverThe charm bracelet market has been explosive in the past few years and there are so many companies and styles out there.  One of my goals for the blog is to showcase different brands and their unique take on the modular jewelry concept.  Waxing Poetic was introduced to me late last year and I have been working diligently with the company to be featured here.  So I’m very excited to be introducing this line to Charms Addict today!

Waxing Poetic was started in 2002 by a pair of sisters, Patti and Lizanne Pagliei located in California. The company’s philosophy is to “pay homage to the journey of our lives: where we come from, what our stories are, and how they have influenced both the world and us.” The collection offers a wonderful selection of jewelry made in sterling silver, often with brass accents, and produced by Balinese goldsmiths.  Their aesthetic is boho or vintage chic and on the larger side for dangles.

The brand offers a number of themes including Insignias, Icons & Sentiments, Articles of Faith, Illuminate, and Lockets.  Insignias are letters in different styles; Icons & Sentiments has a wide range of charms to represent our life; Articles of Faith are mostly religious and spiritual symbols; Illuminate dangles feature crystal detailing; and the Locket designs can store a photo and is magnetically closed.  A really cool aspect of Waxing Poetic is that they also have a whole line of customizable jewelry that can be engraved.  These inspirational charms can be used on a full selection of necklace chains, bracelets, and bangles.

The first time I saw Waxing Poetic, it was paired with Trollbeads and the effect was stunning.  The large hoop base can fit on all bracelet brands so these charms can be incorporated with your current collection.  I’ve been wearing my Waxing Poetic charms pretty much every day since I got them and I am so happy to be sharing them with you.  My upcoming reviews will feature the Insignias, Biographies, Bundled by Love Nest, Delighted States of America, Poetic Falcon, Storybook Pages, Wing and a PrayerTiny Lights, and a few choices for Mother’s Day!

I am loving my Waxing Poetic charms, and it sounds like wind chimes when I walk around which brings a smile to my face.  I’ll be writing more detailed reviews of course, but this brand can be purchased on their main website, La Chique Maison which is the first Waxing Poetic shop-in-shop, and my favorite Trollbeads retailer Goldmine Jewelry Shoppe also carries Waxing Poetic.  The following photos are courtesy of the lovely Mandy from La Chique Maison and shows off their wonderful display of the jewelry.

Have you come across this joyful brand before?  Is this style something that appeals to you?

I love this! I finished my first Pandora bracelet, a two tone theme, and have had a hard time deciding what type of bracelet to do next- probably either this or x by trollbeads with sterling and brass.

    • Leann

This brand is awesome! I was surprised at how much I liked it considering I’m not a big fan of dangles on my European style charm bracelets; but this is a whole another category :).

After looking at the WP website, I have fallen head over heels for the brand and collection. It will be a better fit than X by Trollbeads for me personally, since WP is carried in a couple local boutiques so I can see a charm in person if needed before purchasing. Also, I am not big on the rubber links from X, so I would most likely have links in a jewelry box and not be able to wear them.

      • Leann

It always helps to be able to see them in person! I love X too, I don’t think you can go wrong with either brand :). Have fun and share pics!

  • Pattie Hall

they are pretty, but look like ALEX and ANI.

    • Leann

They are definitely different. Lot more choices :).

  • carol

    I love these!

    • Leann

      Me too! 😀

  • Denise

What fun – love the detailing on these pieces! Looking forward to more info!

    • Leann

These are so cute! I’ll be happy to provide more info ;).

Gosh Leann, I don’t know how you do it! I am overwhelmed enough with keeping track of, and budget conscious about by Pandora, Ohm and Chamilia charms. How do you ever keep track of the ones you review and own? Nonetheless, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these reviews and research for introducing a new brand. These look interesting. I was seriously considering an Alex and Ani set but now will have to look at these; seems they have more options(?) how do these compare?

    • Leann

Hahaha, you should see my house, it’s a mess! I like to call it organized chaos, but you’re right it does get out of hand. I try to use all these storage systems, but I think it ends up being more confusing than helpful.

Alex and Ani is super affordable, but they’re made out of recycled scrap metal so they’re not super durable. Waxing Poetic is sterling silver and really well made but it’s not inexpensive. The charms can also be used on other bracelets, whereas Alex and Ani’s charms are not interchangeable. I hope you’ll have a better idea of the brand after my upcoming reviews!

      • Aida Hartmann

Thanks! As always very helpful and looking forward to the upcoming posts.

  • Melinda Deyhle

    omg i need these toooooo

    • Leann

      Uh oh! 😉

  • Becky

I have recently discovered this collection in a local jewelers! These pieces are extremely well made and very beautiful and detailed. I bought two bracelets, one silver, one gold and six charms to start out. I want sooo many more of these charms.

    • Leann

Nice!! Do post a pic of your bracelet if you can. 🙂 Which ones did you pick out?

      • Becky

I bought a gold ball bracelet and a silver one. Then I got an initial charm, a small brass heart with black crystals, a slender charm that says blessed and a small cross with brass studs. This line is super neat and very bohemian looking. I will be buying a lot of this. I am new to charm collecting so I am getting ready to purchase the Chamilia beads to get the bracelet promo and then I will also be doing the same with the Pandora promo but in the mean time I found this line and I am in love!

      • Leann

Yes, very boho chic! I love the dangles, they’re large and impactful :). Do share a pic if you have time. I’m really enjoying this line!
