I recently came across a European charm brand that is right in my backyard and I am pleased to introduce Ohm Beads to my collection of charms! This company is a local Seattle talent and offers some of the quirkiest and funnest beads around. The most wonderful thing about Ohm is that their charms are produced with input from fans and retailers, inspiring a high level of involvement and creativity. Charms are released on a monthly schedule and Ohm encourages their customers to submit your own design ideas through their Community Bead Project. Currently, they are on a March to 20,000 likes on Facebook and they’re offering some wonderful prizes! Just for liking, commenting, and sharing on the Ohm Beads Facebook page, you will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates valued at $300 (1st place), $200 (2nd place), and $100 (3rd place).
Ohm Beads have screw/twist-on cores and are completely compatible with Pandora and Trollbeads bracelets. The size of the charms make them a perfect complement to any Pandora collection. Ohm offers mainly silver charms, with a selection of 14K beads, and glass Muranos. The “locks” are the equivalent of Pandora clips but they are silicone lined which keeps them from sliding around and can be placed anywhere on the bracelet. The hallmark for Ohm is its swirly design and 925 to designate the authenticity of the charms.
One of the first charms I received* is the newly released Ohm handcuffs and I was quite indecisive as to whether to use these for a law enforcement theme or as an homage to the popular 50 Shades of Grey. Since I live in Seattle, of course I had to pick 50 Shades of Grey! How could I resist? I took inspiration from Pandora, Trollbeads, Ohm to put together this lovely bracelet and I actually ran out of room since there are just too many symbols to choose from. The handcuffs are so delicately crafted and can be worn with both cuffs on the bracelet or as a dangle with one cuff hanging down since it’s not overly long. I tried it both ways and can’t decide; what do you think?
Ohm Beads can be found through these online retailers. I am so glad to stumble upon this wonderful brand and will be featuring more beads (and sneak peeks) in the near future so keep your eye out for those!
