Waxing Poetic Storybook Pages Collection

waxing-poetic-storybook-pages-collectionWaxing Poetic is a new addition to the blog and one of their first collection that I fell in love with is the Storybook Pages.  This brand offers large well crafted dangles designed to mark a moment in our lives as a keepsake.  I’ve been so impressed with the quality of these products and their vintage aesthetic.  The Storybook Pages immediately caught my eye because I am drawn to fairy tale themes.  These particular charms are made of sterling silver with brass accents that really make them pop and they’re added on top of the silver so that there’s some texture and depth to the pages.

The Storybook charms resemble pages out of a book, hence the name and they remind me of the introduction to a fairy tale in the movies.  The dangles are not uniform in shape, each one has a unique silhouette and edging as if they’re unfurling, and focus on different themes.  The hoop is placed at the corner edge so that they hang at an angle and they make the happiest jingle when I wear them together.

My favorite out of this collection is the Once Upon a Time because it quotes the common beginning of any fairy tale book, and the brass detailing on the ye olde “O” is a fabulous touch.  Naturally, Happily Ever After is a close runner up because it’s the conclusion of the story and the wonderful brass infinity symbols interwoven together is just so beautiful.  Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of them as each has its own specialness.

Waxing Poetic charms are on the larger side and can be used on all bracelets.  I actually wear this collection together on their Beholder Bracelet with silver pearl (seen above) and it sounds like windchimes when I move my arm. This brand can be purchased on their website, La Chique Maison, and Goldmine Jewelry Shoppe.  What do you think of these dangles?  Which one is your favorite?

Can’t wait to start this collection!

You’re going to love it! 🙂

  • Bleue van Meer

I love the “Once upon time” one !

    • Leann

It’s beautiful! My favortie too :).

  • FairObjective

Leann…these charms really are special; do you like their vintage-looking cologne bottles also? I really want several of the Storybook Pages, as well as the Cologne Bottles. There’s also a darling series of birds nest charms called “Bundled By Love” with different numbers of silver eggs to represent specific numbers of children and other loved-ones, beloved pets, etc. I love these also. This brand is really, really appealing; add another brand onto my wish list! Take care…Kim

    • Leann

Love love love those! I’ve got one of the perfume bottles and the 3 hearts version of the Bundled by Love. Simply gorgeous :). I’ll be doing reviews of them in the coming months too, don’t you worry ;).

      • FairObjective

Thanks, Leann! Btw…that’s right: it IS hearts (rather than eggs) in the nests, isn’t it? That’s such a perfect version of a nest to represent nurturing loved ones. Only thing: they’re pretty large, right? Are these charms intended specifically for just necklaces? What about the Storybook Pages and Cologne Bottles? Do you have any of these on a bracelet? (20 questions today!). I’d love to put the “Once Upon A Time” page on my Disney/Fairytale bracelet; I’m just not sure on the sizing of the dangle. Enjoy the gorgeous *SPRING* weather we’re having this week, and take care, Leann…Kim

Oh…forgot to mention: Got a peek at part of my birthday present yesterday when it came in the mail (it’s not until late March, but a girl’s gotta “check inventory,” right?!). Anyhoo, everything was in order, and I got a glimpse of my Disney Snow White charm through it’s little individual plastic baggie: it’s beautiful…I love it! I can’t vouch for any of the other Disney Princesses (I have only purchased Snow White so far, as her “live” picture looked very much like her movie/story character to me when it was posted here, and I figured it couldn’t be *TOO* awful). The reaction to the images of the Disney Princesses by readers hasn’t been favorable so far (understatement), but in person they must look much better – at least this particular one does. The cz crystals in her hair (one objection some people had about this line) are *very* subtle, and the same shade as her dark hair; they’re actually very pretty, as is Snow’s facial features and expression. Just my input regarding this line that has received such negative feedback from their pictures posted online. Take care, Ladies…Kim

      • Leann

Thanks, Kim! If you don’t mind, you should copy this comment over to the Disney Princesses post, I’m sure other readers will find your feedback helpful! 🙂 I agree, Snow White is the prettiest of the group, much more natural expression. They are very difficult to photograph though, much to my chagrin :/.

Leann…you betcha (copying the comment onto the other post). With all the shiny silver, it’s no wonder there’s glare bouncing back and causing photography problems! Take care…Kim

      • Leann

        Great! Thanks, Kim :).

      • Leann

Hi Kim, no worries, I’m here to help! These dangles are on the larger side, but can still be used on a bracelet. Indeed, I wear them on my bracelet without any issues (I’ll try and take a picture tonight). The cologne bottles are pretty big though, I’ve got mine on a necklace…I guess you could wear it on the bracelet though, but it’s large. Hope that helps! I am loving the sunshine here :D.

      • FairObjective

Thanks for the info., Leann; it does help. Take some time out today to soak up Mr. Sun! Lucky us…take care – Kim

      • Leann

Great! Super rainy today, but I’m heartened by the fact that it’s Friday :).

  • Carolyn

I love Waxing Poetic but their website is a little annoying…you have to click on everything to view the other versions of it. At first I was like “oh they only have 1 page in stock?” then the tabs must be opened to view all the variations…@.@

    • Leann

Yes, it is a bit difficult to navigate :/. I’ve got a physical catalog which is much easier to browse through!

  • Pattie Hall

love the P.S. ILOVE YOU. THATS MY FAV. MOVIE. HAVE TO GO CHECK THEM OUT. THANK YOU.

    • Leann

Aww, that’s wonderful – is that with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler?

  • Shelly

Waxing Poetic will be on Zulily tomorrow- Friday, March 14th! 9:00 am eastern time.

    • Leann

Thanks for the tip, Shelly! I’ll get a post ready :).

  • Becky

I am totally head over heals in love with this brand and can’t wait to get some custom charms made!

    • Leann

Awesome! I love their customization line, it’s so personal :).

  • FairObjective

Leann, I went to the link for Waxing Poetic’s main site, and noticed that the “Happily Ever After” (and one or two other Storybook Pages) are priced significantly higher than others. “Once Upon A Time” (my favorite) is $39.99, while “Happily Ever After” (2nd favorite) is $75.00. Quite a difference. Wonder why there’s such a span in price for these items…take care – Kim

    • Leann

Good point, thanks for pointing that out. The cheaper ones are discounted because they’re retired – there’s two versions of the Once Upon A Time, one with brass hoop and more torn bottom of the page (retired) and the current one, which is the one I have featured. They’re $75 usually :).

      • FairObjective

Ahhh…ok, got it. Thanks, Leann! Take care…Kim

I have already purchased several WP charms since I was introduced through your blog. I have a Tiffany link bracelet and matching necklace- the chunky chains with heart tag- and these charms look great on either piece. I also purchased a brass story catcher pendant and a long silver chain, and I think that might be my favorite way to wear my charms. My favorite thing about WP is how easy it is to move charms to a necklace or a different bracelet to suit my mood or outfit.

    • Leann

Yay! I’m so glad you’re having fun with this brand. They are super versatile :). I love all the jingle, they make me so happy :).

  • Stumbleine

Leann, thank you for introducing me to this brand and especially to this pearl bracelet! I love it.

Could you please post a picture of it with a couple Pandora charms either on it, or positiones right in front so I can see the size and style comparison ?

That would be a great favor because the stores that carry the brand near me don’t have a full selection of items.

    Thank you!!
