This has been a busy year full of blog-related events for me and to close it out was my trip to Raleigh, North Carolina to attend the Trollbeads Southeast Gala hosted by Trollbead Boutique and the wonderful Eddi Martin! This was my first Trollbeads gathering, since we don’t have many dealers on the west coast, and I was so excited I could hardly sleep for the days leading up to my flight. I kept chanting “beads beads beads beads beads beads beads beads” around the house like the charms version of the Shots song by LMFAO, lol. I could barely contain myself as this was also the first time I’ve seen uniques in person.
After an uneventful flight on Friday, I arrived and rested up for the gala on Saturday. The full event was from 10 am -6 pm and I started the day off by looking through thousands and thousands of incredible uniques! It was literally a feast for the eyes as an entire half of the store is devoted to Trollbeads with 6 gigantic double counters full of charms. After I browsed through all the uniques, and picked out some amazing designs (to be showcased later), I mingled with the collectors and met a few readers of the blog. It’s always a treat for me to talk to other fans and share our passion, so I had an incredible time. There were some out of town guests as well and they brought their amazing collections! I thought I had a big stash of beads but definitely could not compete with these Trollies. I had a serious case of bead envy and in chatting with one of the ladies, she gifted me two beads that I have been dying to get for ages and I was touched beyond words over her generosity!
Scott Bouwens provided a glass lampwork demonstration which was the main feature of the gala. It was my first time watching this process in person and it is so impressive how glass rods can turn into beads with beautiful patterns in a matter of minutes. Scott Bouwens is a fellow Washingtonian and the creator of the Rocky Beach kit. He has been designing and making beads for the past 15 years and was really fun to watch, check out the YouTube video below courtesy of Goldmine Trollbead Boutique. Scott also brought some of his amazing creations to the show and you may possibly see him on the blog again in the future ;).
I am so happy to be able to participate in this incredible event and I had a fantastic time chatting with Trollbeads fans and reps. I can’t wait to go to more of these gatherings next year. Tomorrow is also the last day of Trunk Show so be sure to take advantage of the deals to get your Christmas presents! The promos are: buy 3, get 1 free, free chain with the purchase of a decorative clasp, and a free pair of snowflake earrings and posts with any $360 purchase. Big thanks to everyone who stopped in to say hi!
