Story by Kranz & Ziegler debuted their Fall/Winter 2013 Collection a couple months ago in Denmark and it’s just now making its way to US retailers. This release included the elegant and chic pearl multi-strand bracelets which can also be worn as necklaces, a brand new concept link bracelet, some additional colors for their trademark lambskin leather bracelet, and a number of intricately designed charms. Thanks to the fabulous people at Lovelinks America, the US distributor for this brand, I’ve been able to try out a couple of these new styles including the Kerosene leather bracelet. The darker shades are more appropriate for the cooler temperatures and I have been absolutely obsessed with this deep blue color.
Kerosene is the name for a combustible liquid and brings to mind fiery flames, the hottest of which is blue. This dark cerulean is great for the fall and perfectly complements my denim apparel. I tend to wear jeans every chance I get, so I’ve found that this bracelet is incredibly versatile – wearing it without charms or just a couple, it goes with a more casual look but add a few more charms and it becomes a glamorous composition. As always, the Story leathers are buttery soft and this is a brand I’ve worn for almost a year now with no stretching of the leather. They’re incredibly comfortable, especially if you type all day like me, as I can keep these on while working whereas I tend to take off my other charm bracelets when I’m at the computer for a long time.
Brightly polished silver or oxidized charms are a good match for this bracelet which adds bling and the dangles give it some movement. Story dangles are named charms, the non-dangles are called buttons, and this brand also offers spacers and oversize focal pieces. No clips or stoppers are needed because these hold tightly to the bracelets and stay where you put them, which is definitely a bonus for me! It always drives me crazy when the charms start wandering everywhere on the bracelet. I really like the new geometric shapes including, stars, triangles, decahedrons, etc. and the oversize charms released last season.
The size of Story bracelets are listed as the full length, so to choose your size just divide the total inches/centimeters by 3 to get your normal bracelet circumference. I normally wear a 7.5″ bracelet so in Story leathers, I buy the 22.5″ which fits snuggly but is not too tight. Most of the leather bracelets come in triple wrap, and the lambskin ones are $105USD which is great for the high quality.
