With the recent *redbalifrog* Me’lange Collection, Amanda introduced two locks to her already fantastic selection of clasps. I love new locks because I like to change up my bracelets and the interchangeable clasps are a big part of what makes these charm bracelets special. In addition to the Brass Rose Lock and the Frog Lock, I also wanted to showcase the special Italian exclusive Citrus Flower Lock which was introduced a bit after the Profumi d’Italia Collection was released. This is my second article featuring *redbalifrog* locks, with the first one reviewing the Lotus Lock, Dragon Lock, Om Lock, and the silver Rose Lock in My favorite *redbalifrog* locks so far…
The Frog Lock immediately caught my eye from the Me’lange Collection because of the cute frogs detailed on the front and back. As the brand’s name suggests, Amanda has quite an affinity with these amphibians and there are a number of other frog designs available, including the Bamboo Frog, Tree Frog, Palm Frond & Frog, and now a Frog Lock. The clasp has a cobblestone texture, which the frogs are crawling over and it’s actually one of the more substantial locks from *redbalifrog*. I’ve combined all my little tadpoles onto one bracelet with green glass that represents their environment.
The Brass Rose Lock is a golden version of one of my favorites, the silver Rose Lock. It is identical in every way but made with 100% brass which is perfect with the *redbalifrog* Familiar Treasures Collection. It’s a fabulous alternative to have that gold look without the ridiculous gold prices of today. It’s been a while since the brass release first came out and I haven’t had any problems with the metal. Keep in mind that the Familiar Treasures Collection is limited edition but they’re still available at the time of this post. Of course, I added the Brass Rose, Brass Aladdin’s Lamp, and Brass Endless Love for this two-tone bracelet and an Egyptian theme.
Lastly, one of my absolute new favorites is the Citrus Lock from the exclusive Profumi d’Italia Collection. It wasn’t released when I reviewed the other two charms from the collection, the Orange Blossom and Grapes, but I had to have it as soon as I saw it online. This clasp is in the traditional shape of most of this brand’s locks – with a flat oval top and a tapered end. The beautiful citrus flower is carved on both sides and a scored oxidized background behind the flowers. I couldn’t resist putting all the Italian beads together for this Aurora-esque bracelet.
*redbalifrog* locks are compatible with Trollbeads bracelets as well as their own chains. For a review of other *redbalifrog* locks, simply follow the hyperlinks here: Mermaid Lock, Heart Lock, Star Lock, and Bull Totem Lock. My recommended retailer for this brand is RedbalifrogUSA, the official distributor for the US, Perlen for international fans, and Oromoda for the exclusive Italian collection. How do you feel about the *redbalifrog* locks? Do you have any of these new clasps?
