Persona Bangle Review

persona-bangle-cuffJust released from Persona is their take on the popular bangle style bracelet for the season.  The bangle has been all the rage with multiple companies coming out with their own versions in the past year.  I’ve already reviewed the ones from Trollbeads, Pandora, and the latest was Chamilia.  The Persona bangle offers a simple design – it is a flex bracelet like Chamilia and the end caps screw off and on.  For those that didn’t like the branded ones, these are unadorned and functional.

The bangle is super flexible (even more so than Chamilia’s) and also comes with 2 stoppers.  The beads can be worn in the middle or held at the ends for a great statement piece.  The bracelet comes in 8″ so it’s one size fits most.  I wear a 7.5″ – 7.9″ chain depending on how many Muranos I have on, and this fits well.  I like the plain elegance of this one and have been wearing it with my other charms as well; it is fully compatible with other brands’ beads.

Starting on December 13th through Christmas Eve, Persona is running a special promotion on their new bangle!  Buy 2 beads and receive the bangle for free.  This deal is available at participating Zales, Gordon’s Jewelers, Peoples and Mappins jewelry stores.  Qualifying purchases does not include locks, stoppers, or PersonaGirl products.  How do you think this compares to the other bangles?  Are you curious to try it out?

Nice! I haven’t bought any Persona before, but this might be the bangle for me. Love the sleek unbranded look but wish the ends overlapped a bit more like the Chamilia.

    • Leann

It’s very sleek and unadorned, I was thinking of you Debbie, when I got it! I thought you might like it as you were hesitant with the “C” endcaps. It’s really flexible and more so than the Chamilia bangle too.

What brand is the bangle shown in the last two pictures above–the one with the open heart/red murano charm?

I hadn’t yet been tempted away from Pandora, but I’m sure I could find two beads I like enough to take advantage of this promotion. 🙂

    • Leann

That one is the Trollbeads bangle. It’s more of a cuff and really lovely if you just want to showcase a couple special beads:

Went to the nearest Zales store today, but they apparently weren’t starting this promotion in-store until the 16th. They only had a tiny selection of beads anyway, and I discovered that most of the ones I was interested in were online exclusives. I got the cowboy boot dangle and silver star bead; they’re going to be part of a Texas/”Wild West” themed bracelet. This is a great promotion; thank you for sharing the news!

      • Leann

That’s fantastic! I’m glad you found something you liked. What else have you picked up for your Texas/Wild West bracelet? 🙂

I love these!! May have to check them out!

This one is great too ;).

I just ordered my two beads with the free Persona bangle this morning. I chose the sterling silver polka dot beads to go with it. Very excited! I’m new to the charm bracelet world, but have discovered very quickly how addictive this can be! Am getting a Pandora bracelet for Christmas. Ordered a few of the discontinued charms from Rue La La on Black Friday. Thanks for all of the helpful info! Love your site.

    • Sharyl Suzanne Morris

Were those the rhodium plated ones? I added those to my wish list–loved them!

    • Leann

Awesome! You’re so welcome. I’m so glad you took advantage of this deal, it’s a good one :). Charm collecting is super addictive!

I just received my sterling silver Persona bangle with the 2 sterling silver polka dot Persona beads. Picture attached. I am delighted! Shipping was extremely fast. I must say that the bangle and beads feel very light, compared to my Pandora bracelet and charms, where the charms feel weighty. It feels as if the bangle and charms for Persona are hollow. The quality is not as nice as Pandora, but I paid $50 for the bangle and two charms – it was the buy 2 charms receive the bangle for free offering – so for that low price I am completely satisfied.

      • Leann

That looks really nice! Thanks for sharing a picture, Carrie. Which two beads did you pick out? Yes, the beads don’t feel as heavy since it doesn’t have a thick silver core.

I just received my order from Zales in the mail and I am loving the bangle! I got 2 rose cluster openworks beads and the free bangle. I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant at first about it being one-size-fits-most, and since I normally wear a 6.7″ Pandora bangle with no charms, the 8″ size on the Persona bangle concerned me. But after trying it on, I’m completely sold! I suppose the oval shape (versus the round shape on the Pandora bangle) contributes a lot to good fit. It’s great that it comes with the stoppers too. And I agree, it’s a good option for those who don’t want the branded Chamilia bangles (which is the main reason why I haven’t gotten one yet — I’m not fond of the crystal ends as a substitute for the branded ends either). And since it’s free with the purchase of 2 beads with the current promo, it’s a real steal! I suppose the only caveat is the screw on end, which could potentially unscrew itself over time if left unchecked. But otherwise, it’s a really great bangle. Thanks for the great info as usual, Leann!

    • Leann

I’m so glad you love it! I was also surprised that it was only one size, but it fits surprisingly well :D. I agree, the screw ends are pretty small and it was a little bit of a struggle to get on so I’m hoping that they stay on well enough!

      • Sharyl Suzanne Morris

Well, I lost an end cap–and I’d been so careful about checking it, too! It was within the 60-day warranty period, though, so Zales replaced the entire bracelet. The sales associate reported that quite a few customers are losing the end caps, so they’re going to start selling replacement end caps for $10. Ideal? No, but it’s nice to know I’ll be able to get a replacement should I lose one again, because I’m no longer within the warranty period. 🙂

      • Leann

Oh no! I’m glad they replaced it for you. The end caps are rather tiny, that’s a good idea they’re coming up with a new policy for it.

    Hey Leanne,

When I first saw the Persona bangle, I thought it was great that it has some of the benefits of the other bangles (e.g., it can be worn in two different ways, includes the stoppers, is flexible, kind of looks like the Trollbeads bangle in the front, and fits beads with smaller cores, etc). However, when I saw that it was 8″ in size, I was hesitant about buying it as I have a very small wrist. But then, I tried it on at the store and was told that you can squeeze the bangle to make it smaller. I ended up buying the bangle during a recent Persona sale and I love it. I love how versatile it is and how comfortable it is to wear. I’ve squeezed the bangle to be quite a bit smaller than it’s original size as shown in the attached photo. Right now, I’m wearing it with my charm from ThinkGeek.

I know you wrote this review like half a year ago, but I just wanted to thank you for writing detailed reviews of all the bangles that you have from various brands. I always find your reviews to be informative and objective. 🙂

    Cheers,

    T
