Pandora Zig Zag Murano Collection

pandora-zig-zags-complete-setIn the next installment of the Pandora Muranos Collection, I will be featuring the Zig Zag Muranos. One of the earlier designs from Pandora, the zig zags have over the years been retired one by one. The last to go was the blue zig zag, discontinued in the latest round of retirements in January. If memory serves, the black zig zag was the first to be culled from the collection, followed by the yellow and pink, then the green.  (Pictures are courtesy of Dian Prahesti, please do not reproduce).

As their name suggests, the pattern around the bead is a zig zag spiral that seems almost 3 dimensional.  These are relatively consistent in shade and pattern compared to the Pandora Spotty Muranos. I’ve been sad to see these go as they’re one of my favorite designs.  In fact, if I remember correctly, the green zig zag was my first Murano!  It’s currently residing on my very first bracelet :).  My preferences in this collection are the color beads that have complementary colors, I haven’t managed to get the yellow or black zig zag mostly because I don’t have a bracelet idea for them.

As to price, these haven’t risen significantly in value above their retail cost and haven’t been too difficult to find yet.  I may track down the last two for my collection at some point but I definitely have higher.  Here are my three zig zags, do you like this design?

Leann, the orange/red and the blue one are not part of the zig zags. They are from the stripes collection. I think the zig zags only came in pink, green, and black. The zig zags are my favorite as well and the green one was also my first murano.

Oh that’s interesting. The blue’s always been called zig zag so I just assumed the yellow was too.

  • Angela

If Orange/Red and Blue are not zig zag but are stripes then what other colors were in the stripe collection?.

It looks like just the yellow/red is called stripes? The blue I’ve definitely seen in the zig zag collection. I’m going to keep them lumped here since they look the same to me. 🙂

Angela, I guess I should have used the word set. It was only those two. I have the Pandora book with the names of the charms. The blue one is simply called blue stripes and the other is called yellow/red stripe. It is another stripe collection that is called “Candy stripes. There are seven of those.

I really like these and am also sad to see them go!! The only one I have is the black one, which I had to have for my Halloween bracelet. 🙂 I also like the green. And I would really really like some pink zig zags, but failed to make it a priority. I need to remember that before they are too difficult to find…

They’re very pretty! Not too difficult to find yet, but I wouldn’t wait too much longer :). I really like this design, I wish they didn’t retire them.

Leann, I love what u did with your zig zag charms, very pretty I must say. 🙂

I own the red/Orange-yellow and the Black/white. But the one I’ve been looking for is the pink one. I love any of the Pandora Murano’s in pink, they’re all FABULOUS! 🙂 There are just too many to talk about when it comes to my long wishlist of Pandora! 🙂

Thanks, Ashley! I love these beads, and talk about having an endless wish list! I certainly hear you on that. 😉

I was able to get the green zig zag in the green color from Perlen. I would love to get the black one.
