Pandora US eStore Opens

pandora-estorePandora will be launching their own eStore for the US starting tomorrow, April 21st.  The company has talked of opening their own official webstore for a couple years now and it’s finally ready for consumer use.  This is not a surprising move as Pandora already has eStores operating for the UK, Germany, Austria, France, Netherland, Poland, and Italy.  The US is definitely their largest market so now customers are can order directly from their main website.

The eStore will offer the entire collection of Pandora products, including charms, bracelets, earrings, rings, and necklaces.  You will also be able to buy the Pandora Disney jewelry (except the Parks exclusives) and the distribution channel exclusives (Jared’s, Concept store, and shop-in-shop only charms) online, but keep in mind they will only ship within the US.  Understandably, this move will likely upset their current retailers and cannibalize some of their sales.  Perhaps this is a further indicator that the company will eventually switch to operating their own stores like Tiffany’s, which could go a long way in homogenizing the service experience and availability of products.

From what I’ve heard from ladies buying from the UK eStore, the customer service is not very good, although hopefully it cuts down on people buying from fake websites.  Personally, I still prefer to shop at my local Concept Store because I have a wonderful relationship with the employees there and it really makes a difference to my buying experience.  What do you think of Pandora opening their own webstore?  How do you shop for Pandora?

Do you feel as if it will affect the retailers if they are able to order their pieces online? I understand that some people still want to touch and feel their charms in person but i think that the eStore will draw in a good crowd

    • Leann

It definitely might; I think the hope is to help people who don’t know better from ordering on a fake site.

  • Camille Johannsen

Hoping they will have the rose gold collection available- there is no Concept store close by for me.

    • Camille Johannsen

Just went to the site- rose gold are there BUT they only show 12 items on a page & I can’t find how to view more or go to the next page. Weird glitch! I tried viewing other categories of charms & same thing!

      • Leann

Wow, weird. Probably just growing pains though, they should have everything uploaded soon :).

      • Courtney

Weird, there’s a drop down on the top right for me to “view all” and I can click the arrow at the bottom to go to a second page.

    • Leann

      Yes, they do! 🙂

  • Mary Kate Caldwell

I don’t think I would use the eStore as much. I like to actually see what I’m purchasing, when it comes down to my jewelry purchases.

    • Leann

Yes, there are definitely advantages to shopping in person! I hate having to wait for my packages ;).

  • Et

I am fortunate to have a few stores in my area, but I love going on line to look at new collections. I like the idea of being able to buy the exclusives!

    • Leann

      That will be nice! 🙂

  • Carol

I definitely prefer to see the charms in person. Photos frequently are unable to capture the true beauty of the charms! Also, there is just something special about visiting your favorite shop and viewing the latest charms with the help of enthusiastic associates who actually KNOW you and value you as a customer! I am very fortunate to frequent such a wonderful shop in my area. There is so much to be said for wonderful, PERSONALIZED customer service.

    • Leann

I completely agree. I always go in with a wish list and leave with completely different things, lol.

I Love the idea of Pandora’s US Estore for a few reasons. 1) If you don’t live near a Pandora Store, you are reduced to shop at a jewelry retailer which may not have all of the selections that Pandora has. Although Jareds have their own exclusive charms, they do not carry some of the US Pandora charms listed on their US website. Same as Ben Bridges. If you live in a remote are such as in the country, you may have to travel 2-3 hours just to get to a Pandora retailer. Luckily you can purchase Pandora from both Jared’s and Ben Bridges online. 2) I give many reviews for my Pandora charms in which I am hoping the Estore will allow to give reviews. I’d like for Pandora to receive these amazing reviews I keep giving. 3) I would like to buy directly from Pandora, even if I live near a Jared’s or Ben Bridges. Just the way I am. 4) Widen customer demographic for those who don’t know where to buy Pandora. They can simply go straight to the source. I just think it’s another revenue stream. It widens their customer demographic and allows us Pandora die hards to purchase online from the source itself.

    • Leann

Good points! I’m glad you like this new way to shop :).

  • Ashley Norris

Personally, I like buying online from places like Ben Bridges and Precious Accents, as there is no sales tax. I still go to my concept store for muranos, as I like to hand pick them. Shipping is fast and free online and it sure beats the long lines and the far too often-rude, pushy and unknowledgable sales associates. I like buying online better, for sure.

    • Leann

Yes, it definitely has its advantages! I love no sales tax too, but I do like my concept store a lot. 🙂

  • Juli

I think I would love an estore. I have to drive anout 75 mile one way to my nearest store. Most of my charms came from Pandoramoa or Forever and Always which now has shut their doors. I do like to see them first, but it is cheaper to send them back if I don’t like them, than the gas price to drive there. I look at it as saving 8 1/4%, my sales tax. Lol.

    • Leann

Wow, that is far! I hope you like the new estore then :).

  • Aira

I think an eStore is a great idea. Personally I won’t use it because there are 5 Pandora stores within a 15 mile radius of where I live, lol. But the eStore is a great opportunity for everyone to purchase from the entire line, including the Disney line.

    • Leann

      Yes, definitely!

  • Sharon Brown

I will still go to my Pandora store, but I will probably do the online store as well. I don’t get to go to mall as much as I used to

    • Leann

Yeah, it’s always a hassle to go to the mall. There’s always a lot of people and parking is a nightmare :/.

  • Kim

I avoid buying online whenever I can. I want to hand pick my charms whenever possible. I’ve seen too many imperfections over the years to not do this, especially for what many of the charms cost. Also, there are charms I’d never have purchased if I had not seen them in person, because some just don’t look as good in stock photos until I see them in person and change my mind. It is so much better to take a bracelet to a store and find the charms that look the best to complete it. Plus it is a given that Muranos and two tones have differences, and I’m not happy until I’ve looked at a few to compare. So for me, I don’t mind traveling, but that’s just me.

    • Leann

      Great points! 🙂

  • Alice Wonder

I know couple of good store associates who actually help. Other than that I usually know more about Pandora when they do. it is sad when you need to explain for 15 minutes what exactly do you need. I was told in Jared, that Pandora don’t do rhodium plating, that such charm does not exist, and some of them are beyond pushy. here, buy is not the tactic I like.
The best store selling Pandora is actually Fabri at Bellevue square, their sales people are beyond wonderful. I am going more to them that any other locations. I am happy to see Pandora e-store. I’ve been in Russia recently, and they had stuff, we don’t have in USA. I am looking forward to it.

    • Leann

Oh nice! I’ve gone to Fabri and they are nice…but they don’t always know everything they have either, haha. I actually don’t like the Bellevue Concept store very much…I totally agree with what you’re saying.

  • Leann

Ohh very nice. I’ve been shopping at Nordstroms too but I hate that they don’t have everything :/.

  • Leann
  • Leann

That’s a great site and it’s been my go to if I need something online :).

  • Recki corchado

Hi I’m new to collecring pandora can anyone please tell me what does it mean when I see a charm that states it’s “in shop only”? Also does Ben bridge carry their own exclusive charms?
