Tomorrow, the Pandora Unforgettable Moments of Love on Ice premieres on TV at 1 pm EST on NBC. It was incredibly fortuituous that the filming for the skating event was located just 30 miles south of Seattle. I was lucky enough to attend and had a fabulous time watching the show. I was surprised getting to the venue at how terrible traffic was, but thankfully we left enough time so we were still early. We got our programs and headed to our seats which were right behind the rink and directly across from stage. I only wish there were jumbo-trons since it was hard to see – binoculars would have been a great idea. The ice showed the PANDORA logo beautifully and there were really cool lighting effects. The seats were completely filled and the crowd was very energetic – we even had a great wave going during intermission.
This was the first time that I’ve seen ice skating in person and the dancers were so graceful; there were quite a few famous ice skaters performing including Nancy Kerrigan and Elvis Stojko, with Kristi Yamaguchi hosting. These are grand figures in skating from my younger days and it was so exciting to see them live. I was holding my breath every time someone attempted a jump. The event was 2 hours long with over 20 songs performed live by Barry Manilow. My husband was more excited to see Barry sing than the ice skating so we were both having a great time. After the show, I was able to meet a few of the skaters, got some autographs, and said hi to Ben Agosto again! Of course, afterward I had to get the ice skating charm to remember this unforgettable moment (I wish I could have bought it at the event). All in all, it was a magical night and a big thanks to Pandora for sponsoring the event! Will you be watching the show tomorrow?
