Pandora Silicone Watches

pandora-silicone-watchesExciting news for watch lovers as Pandora is set to launch a series of silicone watches!  These are hugely popular in Europe and just gaining traction in the US, although ceramic timepieces have been more prevalent here.  The rumors of these watches started a couple months ago, and in fact, they’ve been released in Denmark since the beginning of July.  No information yet on when exactly they’re going to be released globally but speculation is that they’ll be coming with the next release (probably early 2014), but these will only be available in Concept Stores.

These watches should be reasonably priced, they’re $99AUD and 895DKK, approximately $91 and $160 in USD, which is quite a large range, but without VAT the price will probably be similar to the Australian price.  They are also water resistant, not waterproof, and come in 5 colors: black, blue, purple, red, and white.  From their release in Denmark, I’m told that the black sold out the quickest.  There is a tendency for the silicone to show wear more readily, especially the white one.  While these watches are based off the Pandora Imagine style watch, unfortunately the bands and bezels are not interchangeable.

Thanks to my friend, Lea and an anonymous charms addict, we have these photos of this upcoming collection.  Do you like Pandora watches?  What do you think of this new material?

  • Carol

Are they releasing these in Canada/US?

    • Leann

      Probably? 🙂

  • Julia Trubitsyna

I prefer the time bead which i have…

    • Leann

I like the Imagine line, but these are too juvenile for me :(.

  • Gus Grinstead

Can’t say that they excite me too much. Maybe because I have seen so many silicone watch bands on teenagers, I don’t find them appealing. Whew – at least there’s SOMETHING in Pandora I don’t want…..LOL!!

    • Leann

Me too, seems targeted for a younger demographic maybe? :/

  • Samantha

I’m not too keen on these silicone watches, keep seeing celebs on TV wearing them and in the shops and in music videos lol they are everywhere! quite a few brands do them already and don’t think i will tempted to buy one even from Pandora. I like the design of the face though.

    • Leann

I think I like the ceramic ones better than silicone. Definitely not my cup of tea!

  • Aida

    Not my
cup of tea; the husband bought me a silicone watch of another so-called quality brand. He
purchased it in white and it gets dirty easily; hard to wipe clean. Also, I don’t
wear it anymore in very warm/hot weather as it makes my wrist perspire.

    • Leann

Yes, that’s what my friend said. I can’t imagine how dirty these will get especially in the summer. Yikes. 🙁

  • Maria La Dora

Yes for me. I plan to get the blue. So what’s the difference between water resistance and water proof?

    • Leann

It can get wet, but you can’t swim or dive with it.

Not really of interest to me…since I always have my iPhone with me, I rarely ever wear a watch!

    • Leann

I’m so used to wearing my watch, but I swear I hardly ever use it, haha! Habit I guess. 😉

      • Carolyn Klement

Yeh, I got the limited edition Mothers Day Pandora watch…and I’ve used it twice since 2011. I never wear watches either….damn limited editions…I swear to god they do it so people will buy more of them lol

      • Leann

Oooh, what does that look like?!

  • Carolyn Klement

I’m apart of the ‘younger’ generation and I can assure you, I will not be buying one of these. IMO they would be horrible to wear in summer (sweaty), they get way to dirty, abused and…yeh cheap…I can’t say anything nice so I won’t rant lol…deffiently a huge no no for me as well…

    • Leann

LOL. You’re wise beyond your years, Carolyn! 😉 I’m probably going to pass too, but if they throw a LE label on these bad boys, then I may have to change my mind…

      • Carolyn Klement

I’m pretty bad for that too. I got the royal baby charm and mothers day bear just cos of the ‘limited edition’ lmao…I’m terrible…I can’t even see myself using the royal baby charm…

      • Leann

I started my English bracelet mostly because of that charm :D.

      • Carolyn Klement

I’ll start mine once I get to the UK…I had a big round the world trip planned then Hurricane Sandy ruined the whole thing last year…so hopefully 2015 will be it!

      • Leann

Oh no! I hope your trip happens as planned next time!

  • Kathrine

I have a white ice watch in silicon and I love it I have had it for 18 months and it isn’t dirty at all I don’t wear it to work but when I go out or on the weekends I do. It’s like with all your favorite jewellrey pieces don’t wear it if your going to ruin it ( gardening) I can’t wait until these watches come out because I’m sure I need it in black;)

    • Leann

That’s a good point, but I tend to wear my Imagine watch every day. 🙂

  • Elyse

I have a black silicone watch from Walmart that cost $9.99 -dare I say looks like these. I’m a nurse so keep it in my pocket to take pulse. Had a white one and it did get too dirty. Silicone to me is trendy and a throw away item so would not put out the $$ for this. I like the ceramic ones better for going out.

    • Leann

Yikes! That’s what I’m afraid of with these types of watches. Seems a bit faddish to me. I like the ceramic ones better too, they’re more durable I feel.
