Pandora Ribbon Murano Collection

Courtesy of Dian PrahestiThe Pandora Ribbon Muranos was my first glass set that I collected all the colors from. As one of the older designs, this entire collection was retired piecemeal starting with the pink and teal before I started buying Pandora, then orange and green, and finally blue earlier this year. Those are the 5 shades of this set, however there exists a baby blue variation of the teal ribbon Murano that was hard to find but would appear every once in a while. I managed to get the special blue variant from Perlen and was ecstatic to complete this set.

The Ribbon Muranos are so named because of the stripes of glass that are layered on top of the bead. Sometimes the ribbon goes around the bead four times, sometimes only three. I started out with the green ribbon Murano but what’s different about this one compared to the other colors, is that the ribbon is teal and not green whereas all the other colors, the ribbon is the same color as the glass.

Aside from the Seeing Spots Muranos, these are the only other glass with bumps from Pandora. I am partial to beads offering tactile sensation so this set is right up my alley. I have them all on different bracelets according to their color scheme. With all the new designs coming out, I hope Pandora releases more glass in the future with texture. Do you like this collection? Which color is your favorite?

  • April Clark

I love the texture as well. My favorite color, you ask? I’d say orange for this bead. It works well on my Halloween bracelet!

    • Leann

That is a great use for the orange. I’m sad they retired the whole collection :(.

  • Wendy Carr

I just got the sapphire blue one, the week before last at a Pandora concept store in Las Vegas. I would love the others as well as the spotties too. I just started collecting a year ago and am sad to have missed out on those ….

    • Leann

I agree, there’s so many I wish I could have gotten when they weren’t retired. Oh well, at least these are still pretty easy to find. 🙂

  • Jordan

I love these murano glass. I have the pink, orange and the green. You can still find most of them in the UK so think my next one will be the blue for my blue bracelet .

    • Leann

That’s nice! It’s so weird how some beads are retired in certain countries and not others, but that just means you have time to get them :).

  • Claire

I have the teal (which I love) but have been after the pink for ages. Every time it’s been on sale somewhere I’ve managed to miss out!

    • Leann

The teal and pink were the first to go! The pink is such a light soft color, I love it with the pink zig zag and the pink polka dots.

    • Lynn

The pink (and teal) ribbon Muranos are available @ Perlen while they last. It’s in their Pandora Retired section.

  • Nataly Paquin

Perlen will stop selling Pandora. It will be hard to find at a good price for me. In stores, in Canada, Pandora charms are so expensive.

    • Farah

      Hi Nataly!

I know what you mean. Pandora is quite expensive, especially when you want multiple of the same beads. Since I’ve been collecting, I have been wishing for a gold pandora and perlen was the only chance of me ever getting one (except for maybe later when I’m earning my own money (i’m a student))… It’s really a shame! But luckily I have fallen completely in love with redbalifrog! 😀

      • Nataly Paquin

Hello Farah. I just bought a bracelet, necklace, clips and one last Pandora charm from Perlen, before it’s over. But like you, I madly fell in love with RBF so the next ones will be in that way. I already know which ones I will buy next time. Have a nice day!

    • Leann

I knooooow :(. I was super sad to hear the news. I’ll have to save my money until the promos then!

  • Carolyn Klement

I like the new muranos. I really dislike all the old stuff and have stayed away completely.

    • Leann

I wish I was that lucky. I like them all! 😉

  • Maria

I own one orange, one teal and 3 blue ribbon murano beads. Love them all!! Never intended buying a blue version until seeing it in person – gorgeous cobalt blue color. You cannot drop them though… I chipped just a tad one of my blue ones 🙁 no one can see, but I just know it’s there:(

    • Leann

That is so true, Maria. I think I’ve chipped my blue too but haven’t looked at it too closely (ignorance is bliss??). My pink ribbon seems less brittle compared to the others.

  • rainey

I have to say I like Kathy Perra’s ribbon beads much better. They have more nuance and interest in the base glass and then the ribbon just adds texture like frosting on the cake or the cherry on the sundae.

I think Kathy’s beads are exclusively TB size cores so they wouldn’t be right for Pandora folks but TB collectors should know about them.

    • Leann

I don’t think I’ve seen Kathy’s ribbon beads, I’ll have to look them up! 🙂

  • Ashley

Hey Leann, you picked a great Murano collection to have. I’m almost there myself on collecting the entire collection of these unique ribbon murano charms. I own the dark blue, the teal, and my recent one, the pink one. They stick out lovely on any bracelet I put them on.

I agree with you, I hope Pandora does a future release of texture murano charms. Would be lovely to see a new collection of Pandora murano charms! 🙂

    • Leann

They’re wonderful, aren’t they Ashley? Are you planning on getting the orange and green to complete your set? I’ve liked the recent Pandora Muranos except that it seems like they’re being designed piecemeal, not a lot of cohesiveness in just having one color per design.

  • sarah

Hi Leann, what is the code for the baby blue ribbon glass? TIA!

    • Leann

Hi Sarah, the baby blue is just a variation of the teal. It doesn’t have its own product code :(.

  • Vicki Weller

HI – boy, did I ever miss some big news. When is Perlen discontinuing the sale of Pandora beads?? I just read this on one of your posts. I have already bought from them twice and liked the prices on certain charms. I just went to the site and they are still selling so I may need to get another order in quick depending on their final sell date.

    • Leann

Hi Vicki, there’s no end date but they’re not getting any new shipments. They’re just selling through their remaining inventory. 🙂
