Pandora Polka Dots Murano Collection

It’s been a looong time since my last feature on the Pandora Muranos and today I return to the series to showcase the Polka Dots Collection.  I’ve been trying to do the designs chronologically, that is starting with the brand’s earlier designs.  The Polka Dots were available in blue/blue dots, green/blue dots, black/white dots, yellow/orange dots, white/blue dots, blue/teal dots, white/beige dots, and pink/pink dots.  Pandora has been aggressively retiring the glass beads for the past couple of seasons and all but the last two have been retired from this collection.

Personally, this is probably my least favorite glass design from Pandora.  Some of the colors are hard to match and the design itself is rather simplistic.  But I do have a number of them because there just aren’t that many options to pick from especially if you’re trying to go for a color scheme.  The green/blue dots was actually one of the first charms I ever purchased from Pandora because of the vibrant lime green shade.  I originally had it placed on my lime green bracelet but now it lives on my Seattle theme since it has the colors for our sport teams (Sounders and Seahawks).

As the name implies, there are polka dots all over the surface of the glass.  After collecting Trollbeads glass for quite a while now, I can only hope that Pandora continues to improve the designs that they offer.  Since I group most of my Muranos by color rather than collection, I’ve got these Polka Dots scattered across many bracelets.  How do you like this set?  Do you have many of these?

  • Bleue van Meer

I love polka dots ! I love the green one and the aqua one but I can’t kind them on french online stores. 🙁

  • Martha

I have mixed feelings about the dotted Muranos. They were the first Pandora charms I bought. I do like my blue/blue and blue/teal and use them frequently, but I completely loathe my pink/pink. If I could think of a way to trade it I would!

    • Leann

Yikes! I think that shade of pink matches a lot of the other pinks they have. I just wish the designs were a bit fancier, ya know? 🙂

      • Martha

Exactly! It matches my Pink Zig Zag, but when I look in my box and see all the fabulous Trolls, it just doesn’t measure up. 🙁

      • Leann

        I couldn’t agree more. I’m a Trollbeads glass lover! 🙂

  • Anita

I have the blue/teal one and I really like it. I wear it on my grey double leather bracelet with some openwork charms and with the turquoise looking glass murano. I’ve been trying to add another murano to this bracelet but can’t seem to find one that’s a similar shade. I bought the pink one a few weeks ago…and although I think it’s really pretty…it just didn’t fit too well with my bracelet so I returned it.

I think my favorite muranos would be the fascinating collection! It’s so pretty and it really brings out a bracelet with a colored theme. I am really hoping to see a lavender one soon…I thought that it may come out with this yrs spring collection…but I guess not!

    • FairObjective

Anita…I agree: a lavender Fascinating would be great! One of my wedding colors was lavender, so I try to keep an eye out for that shade. It’s really much harder to find than I’d realized before actively searching it out in beads/charms. With soft shades of lavender being the “it” color this season for jewelry (specifically beads and charms), it really is surprising that Pandora hasn’t tossed a murano of that shade into the mix (especially considering that they have several pave and other types of beads in lavender for spring). Chamilia does have a really pretty shade of lavender in a murano that will be available April 7th or 8th (spring/summer collection – Quarter 2). I preordered that and can’t wait to see it in person. Regarding these Polka Dotted muranos, I’ve wondered about them after seeing some online, but when I looked at them in person at my local Pandora store, they weren’t as vibrant or pretty as I’d expected. The collection I really like (online…can’t remember looking at it when I’ve been buying other things in any of the Pandora stores I go to) is the Effervescent muranos. They come in pink, blue, soft purple…not sure if there are any more colors; they remind me of carbonated pop, though. Very pretty glass online; I want to put them on my Disney bracelet if they’re as pretty in person. Take care, Ladies…Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

      • Leann

You must be delighted with all the lavendar charms this season then, Kim! I highly recommend the Lavender Morning Butterflies and the lavender pave lights is okay too (kinda looks clear, a bit too light for me). I hope the Chamilia lavender murano will look great for you! 🙂

      • FairObjective

Thanks for the tip, Leann; I’d wondered about the Lavender Morning Butterflies (the lighter one). I’ll keep that in mind as an option; interesting about the Lavender Pave Lights bead being almost a clear color. Any given bead can really look significantly different in person than in pictures/images, I guess. It’s so nice to be able to “talk” to you and the other ladies here about various beads/charms and get opinions from those who’ve actually seen any given piece I’m curious about. Nightie-night, and take care…Kim

      • Leann

It’s always fun to chat about charms! I’m always happy to help and *cough*enable*cough*. I’m going to do a video on some of the spring collection pieces, so I’ll show how the two pave lights compare :). Have a good night!

      • FairObjective

You’re funny, Leann; I guess we’re all more than willing to be “enabled”, huh? I’ve only been collecting for a year this month, but somehow it seems longer, and I can’t imagine *not* having this hobby. So fun! Looking forward to your video about Pandora’s spring collection, especially the pave lights comparison. Have a great day, and take care…Kim

      • Leann

Woiw, only a year? You’re a pro! I hope you like the video ;).

      • Anita

I like the effervescent muranos as well…but I noticed it tends to look different in person versus how it looks online/photos. I got the pink one…and I think it’s more peachy in person. Still pretty though 🙂

      • FairObjective

Thanks, Anita; I guess it’s just something I’ll have to see in person to tell if it’s a shade I’m looking for. Peachy, huh? Hmmm…I definitely was looking for more of a pink, or blush at least. I’ll have to start looking for an alternate in case the hue won’t work for me. Take care…Kim

      • Leann

Yes, you’re right…the pink effervescence is peachy but matches the pink hearts and pink bubbles.

    • Leann

Here’s a pic of my teal bracelet: http://www.charmsaddict.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pandora-teal-caribbean-bracelet1.jpg. I think the teal flowers murano goes really well with the blue/teal polka dots. 🙂

I love the Fascinating Muranos too! I hope they come out with all different colors of the rainbow :).

      • Anita

Thanks for the suggestion Leann! The teal flower does look really pretty! Lovely bracelet as well! I’m still debating if I should replace the middle Pandora clip with a murano. Here’s a pic of my bracelet 🙂

      • Leann

So pretty! I love the symmetry, thanks for sharing :). Either the clip or another Murano would work, it’s still evenly spaced :).

  • Daphne Scroggins Justus

I LOVE them. They go with EVERYTHING!!!! Soo versatile.

    • Leann

      They sure do! 🙂

  • http://bermudabluez.blogspot.com/ Jeanne Pursell

I don’t have any of the polka dots…but maybe I should rethink that!

    • Leann

Yes, get them before they’re all gone!

  • koolchicken

I have a lot of polka dot ones, I really liked them. I have the blue on blue, blue on white, and pink on pink. I only have one of the blue on white ones though and I like to have three of each (I like 6 muranos per bracelet, and do 2 styles at a time). I’m trying to complete that set and can’t find it anywhere. It’s killing me. I may have to add the teal ones to my collection too, before it’s too late. I was able to complete my blue on blue set last night and I’m really happy about that.

    • Leann

Awesome! You should check perlenodense.com, they’ve got a lot of older retired designs :).
