We just got home from the exciting Pandora Unforgettable Cruise, and boy was it exciting! This year, we sailed from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida which is a bit further away than Port Canaveral, our starting point last year. Since I didn’t realize that fact until too late, we made it to the ship barely with just enough time to spare. The program was much the same as the previous trips; workshops on sailing days and shopping on port calls. The staff was half returning and half new ones, but Charlotte (the Pandora Facebook social manager) was sorely missed as she left the company at the end of the summer 2013.
The Pandora events included 3 cocktail parties, Sip & See Summer 2014 Collection, workshops (Tying the Knot, Stylist Tips, Pandora Trivia, Q&A, and Pandora Photography), and two shopping trips on Jamaica and Cozumel. Aside from the initial swag bag, each event also had a special giveaway and prizes given out during the cocktail parties. Black fabric and leather cords were handed out to each person during the Tying the Knot workshop, infinity scarves were awarded to a few people during the Stylist Tips, a quadruple fold makeup case for the winners of Pandora Trivia, and we each got an exclusive blueberry EOS lipgloss during the photography session. We also had a fun photo scavenger hunt with the winner receiving a pineapple trophy and the Sparkling Pineapple charm!
This is my third year with the cruise, and I wasn’t as interested in the workshops this year as they were the same ones from the previous years – the photography session was by far the most interesting, mainly because it was fresh and different. I sincerely hope if there’s a cruise next year, that they will come up with some new ideas. I didn’t focus on shopping as much either, and spent most of my budget in Jamaica where they had the just released Pandora Mother’s Day collection. There were only shop-in-shops on this trip, and the one store I went to in Cozumel hadn’t gotten the new collection or the promotional sets either which was very disappointing. I didn’t mind not spending too much money this time and we actually did an excursion in Jamaica and Cozumel which was my priority. I purchased several pieces from Mother’s Day and the Shimmering Lace set, and I am so in love with it!
Rather than getting raffle tickets this year for the prizes, they added our names into the drawing and we could only win once a day, which is a change of procedure from the previous times. Since we had only half of the people attending as we did last year, the odds should have been better for winning, but there were still folks who didn’t win anything. I feel that there were a lot less items overall, and less variety too. There were a few product giveaways during each cocktail party from the upcoming summer, and I was lucky enough to get the Lucky in Love dangle. I’ll do a feature on the Sip & See Summer 2014 Collection next week with live pictures of the charms and also my impression of the pieces.
All in all, I had an amazing trip! I got to see old friends and make new ones, I really enjoyed the Caribbean island port calls, and there was lots of time to enjoy the ship around the Pandora events. I can’t wait for next year’s and if you’re interested in attending the Pandora Unforgettable Cruise, usually the announcement for the next year won’t be until the fall, but of course I’ll keep you all updated ;). As the staff mentioned during the Q&A session, April is a good time for them because it is in between getting ready for the big releases and also before JCK Vegas, the jewelry industry tradeshow, so it’ll probably be the same month again next year. I hope you got good information from this recap! Are you interested in doing a cruise? Or would another venue appeal to you?
