After many weeks of high anticipation, today we finally have the official list of jewelry retiring from the Pandora line for 2014! There are a huge number of charms leaving the collection, thankfully only a handful of two-tones and gold beads. Unfortunately, a lot of glass Muranos, cheaper silver charms, and silver with stones are on the chopping block. I’m hoping with the massive retirements of the glass beads in recent years, that there will be better more complex patterns in the future.
The one that I am most shocked at on this list is the Stella design: the charm, pendant, earrings, and rings are getting the cut. My other favorite is the Dew Drops Onyx which will join its sister, Dew Drops Orange Moonstone in retirement. A couple things of note from the other jewelry, the teal smooth triple leather is retiring as promised when it was released last summer (it was labeled a limited edition item). I’m sad to see the He Loves Me earrings and pendant being discontinued, but at least the charm with that design will be sticking around.
Retailers will have 90 days to send back these products for credit; this was a policy implemented in the past year or so and it’s been my experience that almost all stores have been sending back the retired pieces. The good news is that it’s likely we’ll see these for sale on Rue La La in the near future (I’m guessing it won’t be until late May), which I’m excited for! The entire list including the other kinds of jewelry can be found in its permanent home under Lists in the main menu titled, 2014 Pandora Global Retired Jewelry List. What do you think? Are you sad to see any of these go?
