Pandora 2014 Retirement List

pandora-retirement-2014-coverAfter many weeks of high anticipation, today we finally have the official list of jewelry retiring from the Pandora line for 2014!  There are a huge number of charms leaving the collection, thankfully only a handful of two-tones and gold beads.  Unfortunately, a lot of glass Muranos, cheaper silver charms, and silver with stones are on the chopping block.  I’m hoping with the massive retirements of the glass beads in recent years, that there will be better more complex patterns in the future.

pandora-teal-smooth-triple-leather-bracelet

The one that I am most shocked at on this list is the Stella design: the charm, pendant, earrings, and rings are getting the cut.  My other favorite is the Dew Drops Onyx which will join its sister, Dew Drops Orange Moonstone in retirement.  A couple things of note from the other jewelry, the teal smooth triple leather is retiring as promised when it was released last summer (it was labeled a limited edition item).  I’m sad to see the He Loves Me earrings and pendant being discontinued, but at least the charm with that design will be sticking around.

Retailers will have 90 days to send back these products for credit; this was a policy implemented in the past year or so and it’s been my experience that almost all stores have been sending back the retired pieces.  The good news is that it’s likely we’ll see these for sale on Rue La La in the near future (I’m guessing it won’t be until late May), which I’m excited for!  The entire list including the other kinds of jewelry can be found in its permanent home under Lists in the main menu titled, 2014 Pandora Global Retired Jewelry List.  What do you think?  Are you sad to see any of these go?

  • Sharon

I’ve been buying some of these for the past few months – trying to collect the two tones and silvers. I managed to get most at discount prices online, which was good. I’m surprised so many Muranos are going – but as you say, maybe there’s going to be some new interesting designs to replace them.

    • Mary Jean Smith

Your bracelet is just beautiful, Sharon.

      • Sharon

        Thank you Mary Jean.

    • Leann

Very nice! Love those two-tones, they really need to come out with more! I really hope there’s better glass designs in the future. The only reason I’m sad they’re retiring is because they add a pop of color to bracelets.

      • Sharon

        Thank you Leann.

    • Cass

What website did you get the discounted prices on?

      • Sharon

I purchased some in store Cass, as they were selling the retired items with 50% off. Others I managed to get on a website here in Ireland called republicofjewels.ie. The Irish stores advertised the store and online sales via text messages to Pandora Club members.

      • Leann

Rue La La. I post about them frequently here.

    • Coonedog 7

WoW very nice love the gold and silver 🙂

  • Mary Jean Smith

Oh Finally, the list! I knew about the Stellas going. Yes, they are so unique and beautiful. I am going to get the stud earrings on Rue. I have both pendants, the large and small, and they are so cool. I thought more gold muranos would be retired. Isn’t it something about them making smaller cores in the future? I def want some of those gold muranos. I think they have come out with so many new charms, this long list was inevitable.

    • Mary Jean Smith

Wow, so many gorgeous charms! Those authentic cabs, so nice, boo hoo. And the encore clips are my fave, so glad I have some. It’s a long list!

      • Leann

I know, I love those cabs :(. I think I’ve managed to collect all of them though, so at least I won’t have to hurry to get them!

      • Mary Jean Smith

I am so glad you got them. Those stones are so hypnotically pretty. I have a few. My fave is the amethyst. Thanks for letting me know about the hidden sale on Rue, Leann. There were so many from that retirement that I wanted to get. Glad I got another chance. Ty.

      • Leann

You’re so welcome! I’m happy to spread the word ;). Pandora at a discount can’t be beat!

    • Leann

Yes, I was very happy they finally came out with it officially! It certainly seems like they’re going to make new Muranos (silver and gold) with smaller cores but priced the same :/. I agree, it was definitely foreseeable that so many would be going since they’ve been releasing so much over the past year.

  • Sharyn

Looking forward to the Rue La La sale!!!

    • Leann

      Haha, me too!!

  • Julia Trubitsyna

Omg! M really surprised with some pieces…

    • Leann

:(, which will you miss the most?

      • Julia Trubitsyna

Most of the two-toned! I can not understand why do they retire a lot of really good designes!

      • Leann

Me too, those are the best! 🙁

  • GrizzzaBellla

This adds to my vast list of retired charms. I’m sorry to see so many go, but am giddy with excitement to see what will replace them… I’ve gone a bit haywire lately with collecting. Now I’m glad I did!!

    • Leann

I agree, there will be lots more in the future! I am eagerly anticipating the spring collection :).

  • stacey

Pandora in Rehoboth Beach, De and Potomac Mills, Va will get the retired collection in as soon as they are sent back to the warehouse. They are both Outlets and carry retired charms at 30-50% off.

    • GrizzzaBellla

Are there websites for these stores??

      • Bonnie May

No, they don’t have websites. I believe those are the only two in the States, located in outlet malls. Awesome for people who live local or happen to travel there. I’d detour to one next time I drive to D.C. 😉

      • stacey

No websites. You can call with a list of retired items you want and they will let you know if they have it and the price. Rehoboth store number is 302-227-3181. They ship.

      • GrizzzaBellla

Thanks for the info. I’ll have to make my list and call.

      • Sharon

Here is a link for Pandora Outlet stores listed by state. Hope there’s one by you!

        http://www.outletlocation.com/brand/pandora-outlet.html

    • Yasmeen

There are pandora outlets??! Info pls! 🙂

      • stacey

Yes, there are outlets. It’s a great opportunity for people to get a great deal and Pandora gets a new customer base. It’s no different than waiting for a deal from Rue la la.

      • Yasmeen

Having a brick and mortar store in an outlet mall to shop at 7 days a week to buy discounted beads that have been “retired” isn’t exactly the same as a a quick flash sale once every few months on a “members only” site for luxe goods. I am not talking in terms of savings for buyers (who know about Rue La La) but rather about brand perception. What made Pandora appealing to me besides its aesthetic, was the idea that you could invest in a pricey little charm knowing that it will retire and appreciate in value. That’s not going to be the case anymore. That’s just my opinion.

      • Kim A

        I totally agree with Yasmeen.

      • Camille Johannsen

Thanks for the tip on the Pandora Outlets –even though I just bought on Rue last month I could not access the latest sale.
PS There is a store near me that is the Mothership for Chamilia & most holidays has sales 25-75% off Terry Ivory Jewelers Ocean City or Stone Harbor NJ & they do have a website and will ship.

      • Erica King

I don’t think it lessens the value at all they sell out the current stock until it’s gone and once it’s gone that’s it they aren’t making new to sell at a discount

    • Leann

I wish I were closer! Those outlets would be fabulous :).

  • Farah

So the retirement is effective starting now??

    • Leann

It’s starting now but stores have 90 days to send it back. Last day is May 8th, so depends on the store whether they return them now or later.

  • Christine

I was waiting for the free bracelet promo to buy 2 of the Blue Topaz Cabochons (Seaside Kiss) but I see they are being retired! Noooo! Is this effective immediately and does the same policy/dates apply for Canada?

    • Leann

Yes, same for Canada. I would get them sooner than later! 🙂

      • Christine

Thanks for your reply Leann! I ended up going last night to my Pandora location yesterday since they only had 3 left. They set 2 aside for me and now they are proudly hanging on my bracelet! Thrilled I got them in time (thanks to the heads up in your blog) but disappointed that I will miss out on the free bracelet promo next month. I need to give my Pandora habit a break or else I’m going to be broke! 😉 Any update on the surprise offer that is going to be included with the free bracelet promo? Do I really want to know? Eeeeek!

      • Leann

So happy you got your charms :). I’m sure you’ll be able to find something else to get for the bracelet promo ;). More details on the GWP this week!

      • Christine

I’m sure I will too! Can’t wait to hear about the details for the GWP!!!

  • Paola Gutierrez

I really wanted to get the gold shoe dangle charm 🙁 Out of all of these, that’s the one I’m going to miss most.

    • Leann

Love that one, it’s really a classic!

  • Yasmeen

I can’t say I am as disappointed as I was last year when they announced the retirement of all the lovely two-tones. I was still new to Pandora and had to rush to buy as many as possible (and filled in the gaps during the Rue La La sales, picked another up today too!). Funny enough, just last week, I picked up the Forever Bloom and Stella charms leaving me with only two items from the retirement list on my wish list (Elegant Emmbrace and the black gold core murano). I am, however, very curious to see what they come up with for fall. However, something tells me they won’t have much gold and real gemstones going forward.

    • Leann

Great job! It was super sad last year to see all the two-tones leaving. Seems to be concentrated on the silver charms and glass this season. I’m also curious about what else will be retiring in the fall!

  • teresa smith

I am disappointed to see the ladybug murano’s being retired. I have three of the four being retired so I must go and get the gold one. Are they leaving the red and lavendar ladybugs in stock? Thanks for heads up on the retirement list. 🙂

    • Leann

Yup, looks like! You should definitely pick that one up ;).

  • Bonnie May

There are a few I already own, including Stella pendant which I recently got from Rue, some of my first charms, and my favorite, the butterfly cameo. I’ve always coveted the Stella charm, and will totally stalk Rue for it, and possibly the red dangling hearts, although this isn’t a red heart Valentine year.

    • Leann

Yes, Stella is one of my favorites :/. I’ve also got the pendant as well, it’s the perfect size for a bracelet dangle.

  • Margarita Nieves

Wow, can’t believe there retiring all these charms, I was looking forward to getting the stella charms for my oxi bracelet ….well still have some time left. thanks Leann for the info…..

  • Jenny

My local store (Miranda in NSW AUS) always has retired charms on sale. These have been retired here since jan.

    • Leann

Yeah seems like Australia and UK had these on sale after Christmas.

  • Laura Summers

Not surprised the pineapple and seahorse are retiring since the (super tacky) new versions are coming out.

Wonder why they didn’t retire the old Christmas tree, using the same logic.

    • Leann

Yeah :/. I am also surprised, maybe they will retire it in the fall?

  • Becky

Soooooo glad I saw this! When I was little my mom used to fill up the couch and living room floor with Easter toys, movies, and treats for Easter morning. I was planning on getting the little Easter Chick but I wasn’t going to get him just yet! As soon as I saw this I ran to the store and waited in line (seeing as Valentines day is in a couple of days, the store is obviously full of men with Pandora catalogs lol) but I’m very happy to have gotten there in time! Thank you for posting this and God bless!

    • Leann

Aww, how fun! The Easter chick is very cute, I’m glad you’re able to get it :D.

  • Valeria

    Hi Leann,
I’m wondering if u have heard anything about Pandora signing with Disney to bring out some charms? As far as I know Chamillia has the brand, u actually posted the new princesses charms, but a sales rep told me they just made the deal…

    • Leann

I’ve heard this rumor for a while, but haven’t been able to confirm it. I don’t think they’ll allow two such similar companies to license the characters but who knows!

      • Valeria

I totally agree with you, mind you it would be great news for me, as I love Pandora and lately I have been very disappointed with the collections, plus I absolutely adore Disney! Thanks very much!

  • maggie

WHat is a rUe Lala sale? And where do I find one?
will the dice charm still be available in Las Vegas?

    • Leann

Hi Maggie, Rue La La is a sample sales site that Pandora has been working with to sell off the retired jewelry. I write about them quite a bit on the blog. The silver dice is now retired globally, but they’re coming out with a new version in spring http://www.charmsaddict.com/2014/02/pandora-spring-2014-collection-prices/.

      • maggie

Thank You Leeann can you tell me where I can go to buy stuff off a ruE Lala?
do you know if the new dice charm will be available In local store Or only in Las Vegas?

      • Leann

Here’s some info on Rue: http://www.charmsaddict.com/?s=rue+la+la. The new dice will only be available in Vegas.

  • Helen GRavestock

When are the UK promotions this year charm addict?!

    • Leann

      I don’t know, Helen! 🙁

  • Kathryn Olson

Thanks so much for posting this! I was able to run out and get the two tone basket of flowers before it disappears 🙂 That one has been on my list for quite a while!

    • Leann

Woohoo! Glad you got what you wanted. I love the little basket, it’s so cute I can’t believe they retired it :(.

  • Trisha

I am wondering if anyone may have this retired charm to sell? Purple Dangling Daisy Dangle Charm

No.790196ACZ . I can’t find it anywhere. A friends daughter lost it and it was very special to her since it was from her brother. Thanks in advance!

  • Reni Ellert

Is it possible that different countries retire different Charms? I just bought in Perth the “Brandenburg Gate” for just 25AUD. The Store said it’s definitely retired in AUS and NZ. So are there more exceptions?

    • Leann

Oh yes, the different markets used to retire different things all the time although I thought there was a push to do more uniform global retirements.

  • Maddie

    Leann,
I am trying to locate a specific retired charm-390157acz, Pandora amethyst CZ Hibiscus charm/pendant. Any ideas? One just sold on eBay in January. I’m not into the dangly charms, but love and HAVE to have this one!!! Thought you might have a suggestion.
    Thank you.
    Maddie

    • Leann

I checked all my retired sources and it looks like it’s sold out :(. I would keep checking eBay, maybe it’ll pop up soon!

      • GrizzzaBellla

I have been looking for it too and just found it on one of the Pandora groups on FaceBook

  • Patricia

Hi Leann. Is this shown here the complete list of retired charms globally? Thanks.

    • Leann

      For this year, yes.

  • koolchicken

I was wondering, do you know if shop in shops like Ben Bridge or Jared’s usually send stuff back? In my experience smaller independent shop in shops don’t. Of course I’ve been out of the game for a bit (since my son was born so maybe more than bit..). I’m just wondering about future availability as in the past I didn’t use to really worry, but if they’re really all going back now maybe I don’t want to chance missing a specific bead?

    • Leann

Since Pandora has started offering merchandise credits for returned products, most shop-in-shops have been sending back the retired jewelry. Including Ben Bridge and Jared’s. 🙁 I’d get it sooner than later, but there’s always Rue La La too ;).

      • koolchicken

I think I’ll see if I can get what I want now. I’m not sure I want to hold out hoping I can scoop something up on Rue La La later.

      • Leann

        Hehe good point ;).

  • Sarah

Anyone know of any sites/places to get my hands on retired charms etc in New Zealand or a site that sells discounted and delivers to here?

    • Sarah

      Pandora charms* i should say

    • Leann

Perlenodense.com will ship to New Zealand :).

      • Sarah

        Thank you 🙂

  • Meredith

I have a question- are these charms being retired at the end of 2014, or sooner? I want to get one of the charms in June, but I’m worried it won’t be available in store :(.

    • Leann

They’re retired immediately – i.e. they are not being made anymore. But it depends on the store when/if they’ll send them back and at the latest early May.

      • Meredith

        Ok! Thank you :)!

  • Kesha

Hi Leann, I was scrolling through your site over the weekend and came across this posting. I ordered the retired Butterfly from Pandora Saint Louis’ site on Monday, free shipping, free gift wrap and no tax. It arrived today, yippee! Thank you for such a great blog! 🙂

    • Leann

Very nice! I like how they have a great selection of retired beads.

  • Jaz

Sharon, where to get them at discount price online?

Love the moonstone spacers but went to online authorised pandora seller and most no longer have the stock. Very sad.

  • Coonedog 7

Rue La La Sale Yahoo love great sales!! 🙂 Thank Leann!!

    • Leann

      You bet!

  • KC

Does anyone know if Pandora sells retired charms at a discounted price at all before they are all sent back? I am new to collecting Pandora, just got my first bracelet 🙂 Since i am not in the US, and Rue la la will be unavailable to me, was wondering on any other options for me to stock up other than the Pandora promotions?

    • Leann

Depends on the country, each market is operated independently.

  • Denise M Johnson

I was told by a employee that new charms are coming this spring…supposedly
