This has been an extremely busy year for Pandora with 7 official releases and a number of limited edition charms as well. The collections included Valentine’s Day, Spring, Mother’s Day, Summer, Travel, Autumn, and Winter, and other sets released were the Chinese Zodiac animals, Essence line, and MLB dangles. Limited edition pieces, which were not released worldwide, comprising the Sparkling Snake, Bear My Heart, Royal Baby, Breast Cancer Awareness triple smooth pink leather bracelet, I Love to Travel, and Let It Snow. Next year is gearing up to be just as busy but before we get there, I wanted to recap some of my favorite collections from 2013.
Starting with Spring 2013, the set included two distinct themes – cherry blossoms and fairytale charms. I absolutely adore the Cherry Blossom design which included the Murano, clip (silver and gold), pavé, pendant, earrings studs, earrings dangles, single flower ring (silver and gold), and flower bouquet ring. Even though I’m not a fan of enamel, the delicate pink shade completely won me over and I love the motif too of course.
The fairy tale charms from Spring 2013 was also a highlight for me; like many young girls, I grew up on Disney fairy tales and dreaming of Prince Charming. Some of my favorites are the Once Upon a Time, Frog Prince, Happily Ever After, and the Song Bird charms. The other new fantasy beads are the Mouse in Cup and Princess Tiara. I redesigned my fairy tale bracelet to accommodate these beautiful additions.
The summer brought a completely new bracelet concept for Pandora as the brand introduced their bangles. The next evolution of the traditional charm bracelet was well received and is a fabulous way to wear the charms. I liked the bangle when it first came out, but it took me quite a while to find a combination of beads, dangles, and clips together. I need to update the blog with a more recent review on the Pandora bangle now that I’ve had it for a number of months.
The fall was jam packed with new products including the launch of the Essence line and Autumn 2013 collection. I’ve gotten 2 Essence bracelets to date and 12 of the beads, and I’ve been very satisfied with the quality and the designs. I’ve yet to offer a review of this collection, although I have posted an introduction on the specifics of the new concept, and it’s on my list to do for next year. A common complaint, and something that I think has kept this line from taking off, is that these charms are not compatible with the traditional Pandora bracelet and customers are hesitant to invest in another charm bracelet system.
Autumn 2013 debuted an enchanted forest theme which boast strong green tones and creatures from the woods. My favorite color is green so this collection was right up my alley and for me the notable mentions are the Green Pavé Lights, Green Fascinating Murano, Vintage Allure, Family Tree, Autumn Breeze, and Moss. I purchased an alarming number of charms from this release, and created a brand new forest themed bracelet.
The other collection that I couldn’t get enough of, and probably my favorite from the entire year, is the Light as a Feather set! The Light as a Feather design features micro-set pavé cubic zirconia and came in a charm, earrings, ring, and pendant. The jewelry are rather large focal pieces especially the pendant and earrings, and I was afraid that they would be overpowering, but they look surprisingly delicate on.
