Ohm Beads Thanksgiving Giveaway (Same Same But Eaten Review)

ohm-beads-thanksgiving-giveaway*****The winner has been contacted and the giveaway is closed.*****

Ohm Beads just debuted their last limited edition bead and GWP for the year called Same Same But Eaten.  Modeled after the super popular Turkey Platter from 2013, this dinner displayed the aftermath of a successful meal.  There are two ways to acquire this charm, either purchased outright or as a GWP with any order of $150USD or more on the official website.  This promotion is limited to the US and Canada sites, and ends on November 10th at 11:59pm PST which is a short window of time!  Turkey Platter disappeared extremely quickly and fans are still asking for it so I wouldn’t wait too long to get this design if you like it.

I wanted to showcase this bead sooner rather than later since it’s likely that it will be sold out shortly.  I loved the Turkey Platter and was extremely sad that I didn’t buy one last year.  It was only recently that I managed to get one, so I was completely taken by the idea of a finished Thanksgiving dinner for this year’s holiday!  The bird carcass may be a bit morbid to some, but I adore the detail of the bones including the scraps of garnishes on the plate.  The bottom of the charm is engraved with “Happy Thanksgiving” the same as Turkey Platter, and it’s just slightly smaller than Turkey Platter in comparison.

To celebrate this Thanksgiving, Ohm Beads has generously sponsored a giveaway here for not only Same Same But Eaten, but one of the incredibly coveted Turkey Platters as well!  There are 4 ways to enter the giveaway, simply “like” Charms Addict on Facebook, “like” Ohm Beads on Facebook, follow Charms Addict on Twitter, and/or follow Ohm Beads on Twitter through the Rafflecopter widget below.  One winner will be selected for the matching set of charms, and the deadline is November 10th at 11:59 pm EST.  Please take a look at the rules to participate.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

This brand has large diameter cores that fit on all bracelet brands including Pandora.  Even though the promotion is not being run outside of North America, authorized retailers could order and sell it but I haven’t found any European stores that have it.  Artisan Bead Boutique, formerly Trollbead Boutique, have started carrying Ohm Beads so check with them for international shipping options.  I’m so happy to have these charms to play with for Thanksgiving; how do you feel about this design?  Have you gotten one yet?

  • Heather

What if I already like Ohm and Charms Addict on FB? Do I need to unlike and then like again?

    • Heather

      I think I figured it out. 😉

    • Leann

You just enter through the Rafflecopter widget, no need to unlike and like again. It’s automatic :).

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Please, what is the “Rafflecopter widget” ? Thanks. Never mind, I have and I did anyway. Thanks again.

      • Leann

It’s the big box with the numbers in the middle.

  • Vanessaqq

There is a Tom the turkey from OHM beads too.

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Tom is great, but I need (want) the Turkey Platter. I spent somewhere between $450 to $600.00 in the last six weeks, from Retailers/Resellers to the Ohm Site to a Reseller on eBay just on OHM charms. They ARE my absolute FAV. I deserve this 🙁 I do, I do, and of course I LOVE Charm Addict. I read it religiously. Amongst others as well. I’m a TRUE fan! 🙂 for sure.

    • Leann

      Good luck! 🙂

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

How’s this for a #1 TRUE Fan? I ordered my very first OHM charm on 10-1-14 here is my collection so far. I used someone else’s camera and have a better shot of my collection so far. I still have 5 more charms on it’s way, as we speak. Every 5 you get one free and I have received 3 free so far, I believe. Needless to say, I’m broke 🙁 however, with my next windfall, I’ll be back. Yay. The bracelet holds a few “other” brand charms, but the rest are OHM’s charms. Talk about a FAN 🙂 I’m definitely one. So I’m hoping for the Turkey Platter based on merit, LOL.

    • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Someone get that lady an OHM Bracelet or two LOL

    • Leann

WOW! What a collection!! Great job building your bracelets :).

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Mix and Match. I may leave the Halloween one pretty much as is? I dunno. I need a bracelet then I’ll use and reorganize and use, you know how it goes. 🙂

      • Leann

        Sounds like fun! 😉

  • Vanessaqq

Leann, do I need to do all 4 ways to enter this giveaway? I liked Charmsaddict, OHMbeads on facebook. But I do not have twitter account.

    • Leann

No, it’s just for extra entries :).

  • Nereida Ammari

Got the Snow Job set and Kiss My Christmas set in today. I’m in love:))

    • Leann

That’s awesome! How are you going to use them? 🙂

      • Nereida Ammari

Flakes 4 friends, u melt me, and a Pandora snowman flanked by (not received yet) Ohm snowflakes, silver stopper,Sugar Sleigh Ride with Trollbeads Blizzard tassle, silver stopper, Bah Humbug, Sip Happens, Get Your Nog on, and Jingle Balls, silver stopper, BF Pandora present, Pandora carolers, and Pandora Pine cone, Trollbeads Bow lock on bracelet. Then I’ll see if I can put a couple of Ice Holes in there. Obviously I’m not a purist.

      • FairObjective

That outline sounds beautiful! You should post a photo when your bracelet is completed; I always love to see other collectors’ designs (fun to see pics, plus provides new ideas for me!). I’ve always mixed brands freely, and it seems more & more collectors are doing the same. I read frequently lately that many are loosening up the “rules”, so-to-speak, and trying out different brands on 1 design. I think it makes total sense; I can’t seem to get the looks I want from just 1 brand on any given design. There’s just so much more freedom and many more options with mixing.

      • Nereida Ammari

I know. Given that the different brands touch on similar subject matter it’s crazy to assume that different brands won’t look great together. And the whole point of individualized jewelry is self expression. Sales for all brands go up when people start mixing beads. It makes the creative juices flow and the desire for more and fuller bracelets goes up. I was originally planning a very modest holiday bracelet.

      • http://www.OhmBeads.com Mike @ Ohm

Looks like a fantastic plan! “The whole point of individualized jewelry is self expression.” We couldn’t agree more. #WeAreAllARemix

      • FairObjective

Oh-my-gosh…a spy among us! Love that freewheelin’ outlook, Mr. Ohm. I’ll just add that, regardless of my habitual mixing of brands…Ohm remains the favored child in my treasure chest, if I *had* to pick only 1 brand. My bead boxes and bracelets are by far filled with Ohm loot over other brands! Take care…Kim

      • Nereida Ammari

Absolutely! Wearable art with a sense of humor.

      • FairObjective

I hear you, and that’s exactly what happened with me this year: I’d planned to mainly stick with last year’s full Christmas bracelet design, with just a couple of new beads on a bangle for the 2014 holiday season. Then Ohm ponyed up the Sugar Sleigh Ride, Chamilia threw down some irresistible, sparkly Christmas wonders…and I was a goner. So, besides more straight-up Christmas charms than I’d originally planned on, I wound up with a whole extra bracelet themed around the 3 major fall/winter holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (the last being inspired by Ohm’s 3-holiday ride).

      • Leann

Sounds awesome! Do post a pic when you’re done with your project ;).

  • Elizabeth Fetter

I’ve been protesting joining Twitter….. but offering last year’s turkey platter bead was the cincher….. sigh 🙂

    • Leann

Haha, it’s not so bad! But I won’t pretend to really “get” it either, lol.

      • FairObjective

Hehheh…same here. Those sound bites of opinion and “wisdom” that followers regularly toss out in Cyberland can be *so* misunderstood and taken in the wrong context. Twitter is ok for simple, straightforward remarks and observations, but folks use it for a personal unloading zone far too often regarding controversial subjects that start the infamous Twitter-Wars. Maybe the positive outcome of all that noise is that people have a relatively safe outlet for releasing pent-up hostilities and aggression? Yeah…I’ll go with that one. Take care…Kim

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

        Agreed !

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

272 Entries, OMGosh. So many to choose from, WOW. That’s why I wanted to show you how excited I am with OHM and how much of a Fan I am. I can’t help it I’ve just discovered them. In fact, I believe it was your blogs that I heard of OHM, yep I’m sure of it. Thank you (I think) LOL.

    • Nereida Ammari

Is this random or are winners being picked?

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

I read some where that it is random by the “helicopter” widget, whatever it is called. That threw the wind out of my sails.

      • Leann

This giveaway is a random drawing :(.

      • Leann

        It is random.

    • Leann

People sure love that Turkey Platter! 🙂

  • Nereida Ammari

Any way we could petition the amazing folks at Ohm to do a limited re-release of the Turkey Platter. I’m thinking there’s a lot of interest out there and it would sell out quickly. Not to mention the amazing service it would be to those of us who may not be lucky enough to win one.

    • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

What about starting that sort of thing on their FaceBook page ?? If everyone just leaves a comment(s) about doing this PERHAPS they would. I wonder how many of us read their facebook besides us here on the blog? What do ya think?

      • Nereida Ammari

I posted something. Like and comment away and who knows? Maybe we will be lucky. Ohm has almost 70,000 likes.

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

I added to your post 🙂 Now if people read our posts and post themselves….

    • Leann

Haha, there’s definitely a lot of interest for the Turkey Platter! Although on the other hand, it’s tough for the brand to just re-release something they labeled as limited edition since it might make last year’s collectors mad.

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Aw schucks ! I suppose you are correct on that Leann, darn it anyway 🙂

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

I have two questions that I hope you can answer Leann:

    1) What the heck does this mean? :

that winner must also answer correctly within a 24-hour time period a mathematical skill-testing question without the benefit of any calculating devices before the prize will be awarded.

What math questions? I stink at math!

    and the other question is:

    2) eligible participant with the highest votes.

What votes? Where do we vote? Does that mean the big 4 that the Widget speaks of?

    Thank you very much.

    • FairObjective

Sharene, I’ll add what I know, and Leann can fill in what’s deficient: you’ll only have to answer the math question to collect the prize if you’re a *Canadian resident*. Other than that, you don’t have to worry about it. Not sure what that quirky stipulation is all about, but it’s in all the Rafflecopter widget contests; probably satisfies some bureaucratic legality or whatever (I’ve always meant to ask Leann about that, since she’s an attorney). The second point you’re asking about only applies when the contest is a *voting* type, where readers vote for whichever comments/photos they like the best, with the most valid votes winning. *This* contest is strictly random, where the Rafflecopter widget is an automated device that randomly selects a winner from the entries (no voting involved). There are 4 entries – total – possible for each participant to receive: 2 through Facebook (both Ohm and Charms Addict when you “Like” their FB pages), and 2 through Twitter (if you’re on Twitter), by following both Ohm and Charm’s Addict. You’ll still be entered for the 2 “Likes” on FB if you don’t do Twitter, and vice-versa. Just click on the entries that apply to you on the Hellicopter widget box at the end of Leann’s post, and it’ll show you how many entries out of the possible 4 you’ve received. Take care…Kim

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Thanks Kim, have a good one. 🙂

      • Leann

        That’s exactly right, thanks Kim!

    • Tracy

Kim is right, it’s Canadian law that winners of contests can’t be chosen strictly by luck, there has to be some element of “skill” involved. It’s slightly subjective. For example, if I win a $2 lottery ticket, I don’t have to answer a skill testing question. But I did have to do it once when I won a gift card. But the tests are pretty easy. Something like “3 + (5×6) divided by 11”. There’s separate rules for Quebec (which is why many contests, even in Canada, exclude Quebec so they just don’t have to deal with the extra rules there.)

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Wow, isn’t that something. Crazy. Thanks.

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

The above states this “GiveAway” ended last night at 11:59. When do you announce the winner?

    • Leann

It was a glitch in the setup; it’s suppose to end tonight (11/10) at 11:59 EST. The winner will be posted in the window.

      • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Oh, I see. Thanks, Leann, I’ll check there tomorrow.

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

And … where do you announce the winner? 🙂

Hold on, one area you state Nov 9th at 11:59 later you state Nov 10th at 11:59, which one is or was it? Thanks.

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

Ahh I see the widget is still active, so the end day must be tonight, even tho you stated Nov 9th at one point in this blog. I got it. 🙂

    • Leann

Woops! Bad editing on my part. It ends tonight.

  • Leann

Well, it’s not exactly fair for customers who rushed out to get them last year because it was limited edition if they just brought back every popular design? It’s always a hard line to walk for brands as they don’t want to devalue the “limited edition” label of the pieces while still making sure everyone who wants one, can get one. It’s impossible to please everyone :).

    • Betina

I understand that definitely because I have been collecting Troll and Pandora for a few years and like you said it wouldn’t be fair to bring back every bead ever. Or like my Trollbeads skeleton necklace if they rereleased that. But I bet there are lots of people who didn’t even know what OHM were last year, or like me when I was in college had no idea what OHM, Pandora or Troll are and missed out on a lot of releases but now enjoy when things come out. But you’re right you can’t please everyone.

      • Leann

Very good point, Ohm is definitely exploded in popularity this year! I hope they’ll release something similar but maybe slightly different? 🙂

  • http://www.facebook.com/thepurplecharm2 Sharene

    Congrats to Kim C.

  • FairObjective

    Congrats, Kim C.! – Kim
