Novobeads Holiday 2013 Collection

novobeads-winter-2013-coverKicking off the official start of the holiday season comes the Novobeads Holiday 2013 Collection!  This brand tends to offer their collections a bit later than other companies and this time is no different.  An interesting departure from their normal charm products, this release is mostly focused on a different direction and that’s the ever popular bangle.  Novobeads is introducing new one-size fits most bangle in 12 designs and two finishes.  Similar to Alex and Ani, these bangles come in Antique Silver and Antique Gold but are cheaper at $19.99 apiece.

Only 3 new charms are added to the line and they’re all perfect for the upcoming holidays.  Sparkling Ornament is beautiful with a splash of red and a splash of glitz, it works well on any Christmas bracelet and it is versatile to be used on year round designs as well.  Prayer can work as the traditional religious symbol or can also represent spirituality and faith.  The Snowflake Ornament speaks the most to the season and the wintry weather with engraved snowflakes on a circular medallion with a small bow attached to the base hoop.  This dangle can be inscribed with a special message and is great for gift giving.

It’s an interesting decision for the brand to depart from producing conventional charms to bangles but given the popularity of this style, the experimentation makes sense.  Novobeads charm have large universal cores and can fit other bracelet brands including Pandora.  These pieces can be found on the Novobeads website but they only ship to the US because unfortunately, there is currently no international distributor for this brand.  What do you think of these new bangles?  Any favorites from this selection?

I’m worried about the cost of these, are they cheaper because they are less-better materials? Last thing I want is to find out they’re plated and for most of the silver/gold to rub/flake off.
Can someone clarify this for me?
I love a number of their designs.

They’re probably made of recycled metals as well, not real silver or gold but that’s the same for Alex and Ani. I’ve had a bit of an issue with A&A flaking, but it doesn’t bother me too much. I haven’t tried the Novobeads one so can’t say for certain :).
