Have to kiss a lot of frogs…

This is my 7th day on the sobriety wagon (I’m talking about buying charms, lol), and it has been so hard!  Researching and staring at the new charms has been helpful in that it keeps me focused on saving money for the new collection.  But before I swore off buying new charms, I’d already paid to have the crown for my frog prince commissioned and I finally got him!  Ever since I first saw this on the Pandora page over a month ago, I have been dying to get my hands on one.  Great minds think alike, so there’s been a few other ladies who had the same idea on the forums but it seemed the crowns were more similar to the queen bee’s crown (short and pointy) and I wanted a taller crown with more tines (like the king’s crown).  Now he’s finally here!

I love what this frog represents – persistence in finding your one true love.  Dating is hard work and “you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your handsome prince”.  I know I have found my handsome prince and I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life!  That’s what this frog prince means to me and I’m very happy with the way it turned out.  Also, with a few purchases in the last month I’m well on my way towards my fairy tale themed bracelet, yay!  🙂

I went to my jeweler and showed her pictures of what I wanted and then they designed it with a wax mold. After I approved the design, they cast it in gold and solder it onto the frog. Custom work can be quite expensive – the total cost was $215 (because the jeweler had to design it then cast the mold), but now that they have the mold already my jeweler said they can do others for $120 (includes frog and taxes). Hope that helps!

Could you please provide me with the name of the Jeweler and contact information? Thank you.

Al – my jeweler has stopped making them, but I know a couple of ladies on Facebook that can have them made. Good luck!

He looks so great! Like he was born to wear that crown 😀

  • Kristie

i know if you bought the frog and the crown, the crown can be heated up and removed from the charm and placed on the frog :0) a cheaper alternative.

I thought about that, but I had a feeling with the labor costs, it’d probably end up to be about the same. But I’m quite happy with how the crown turned out! It looks different than the king’s crown :).

I can’t believe how much the crown changes the look of this charm! I’m not really a big fan of the frog, but put a crown on him, and suddenly I want him. I really like your idea of a fairy tale bracelet – this little guy will be perfect on it!

Thanks, Kari! I’m really happy with the way he turns out :).

  • Christine

Oh Leann! He is so cute!!! If you ever tire of him, I’ll be more then willing to give this little guy a new home 😛

Lol Christine. I wouldn’t hold your breathe ;).

  • Jennifer

I love it!!! I’ve been saying that Pandora should do a frog prince charm! Could you share your jeweler’s info so I can request one?

  • Thea

Love it! I want to do a fairy tale themed bracelet. Can I get your jeweler’s info, too? Thanks! 🙂
