Happy Father’s Day (introducing male charm jewelry)

men's-jewelry-by-aagaard2Happy Father’s Day to all the loving fathers out there!  While I didn’t have too much trouble finding a present for my mom this Mother’s Day, it’s always a bit tougher to think of something for my dad.  This year, however, I opted to replace my dad’s heavy old TV with a new flatscreen set from Costco and he loved it.  For most dads, jewelry probably isn’t high up on their wish list, but I have met a few charm-loving men on the Pandora Cruise, as well as at my local store, so if you’re so inclined maybe next year you can try and get your special someone involved in your favorite hobby!

pandora-mandoraThere’s a few choices around including Pandora, Trollbeads, and introducing Men’s Jewelry by Aagaard.  While most of the jewelry from Pandora has a distinct feminine feel to it, leathers have been considered by most people to be unisex and wearable by men and women.  Pandora leathers combined with masculine-styled charms like the polygonal Rock Star clips and wood beads, along with other geometric shapes and pieces are popular with the appropriately coined “Mandora” crowd.

men's-jewelry-by-aagaardFrom the parent company that makes Story by Kranz and Ziegler comes their brother brand Men’s Jewelry by Aagaard.  This line caters exclusively to men and has the most masculine styling around in the modular jewelry world, and one that I’ve been keen to get my husband started on!  Like Story, Men’s by Aagaard centers around leather bracelets, mostly braided singles and doubles although they do also offer a stainless steel mesh bracelet.  The charms are made of manly materials including stainless steel, ceramic, and carbon fiber.  Displayed on a thick braided leather bracelet, these brushed metal charms provide quite a striking accessory for any fashion conscious guy.  I’ve seen this collection in person and it is very eye catching!  If my husband agrees, maybe I’ll do a more in depth review on one in the near future ;).

Leann, how interesting! I know my husband is more into the earthy look, like the wood beads but I’m just very hesitant on the thought of him wearing this sort of thing. It’s definitely something either a man is into this or isn’t, ya know?

    Haha…Mandora, I’ve never heard that before! 🙂

Hahaha. I’ve had some strong comments about this post on the Facebook page. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I know some fashion forward guys are out there too. My husband is definitely not into it, but I keep trying to get him interested ;).

OMG, Just this weekend I was talking with the husband, son and nephew regarding a pandora line for men. While brainstorming a ‘Mandora’ line we had great fun coming up with some obscure options; your wooded beads or manly charms ideas seems interesting. I showed them the parachute chorded/woven bracelets online, (Elisa Llana) and as Navy men they gravitated towards the Navy clasp and coordinating colors. Maybe by next Father’s Day I will have the husband convinced!

Ohh, that’s funny. Soldier to Soldier (the parachute bracelets) are also made by the parent company of Story by Kranz and Ziegler and Men’s Jewelry by Aagaard! They’re very popular for guys ;).
