Eske Storm Japanese Waves and Cherry Blossoms

eske-storm-cherry-blossomsIn this next feature on Eske Storm, I’m reviewing a couple of my new favorites from this line, which are part of the set designed by Eske’s apprentice Alex Cramariuc previewed a few weeks ago here.  As I mentioned before, these Japanese inspired charms were released during the spring which was on trend for that season.  The collection comprises 3 distinct motifs: cherry blossoms, Japanese waves, and the Danish Jelling Stones.  I am partial to nature, floral, and oriental themed beads so it’s no surprise that I adore this release.

I fell in love with the Japanese Wave and Cherry Flower as soon as I saw it and I was not disappointed when it finally received it.  It’s probably my favorite charm from all the lines released this spring.  The fluidity of the waves and the stylized cherry blossom resembles the silk kimonos worn by geishas and it’s just as elegant.  The charm is long and cylindrical but slightly tapered at the ends; not overly large, it looks great on a bracelet or necklace.

The most amazing of all of these is the Cherry Blossom Large.  This is beyond a doubt a work of art that I can wear around.  It is centered around the cherry blossoms of course, but creates an incredible 3D effect with the blooms and branches slightly above the surface of the charm which is the same stylized waves as the other designs, but heavily oxidized as a background to the cherry blossoms.  This is also a large long barreled piece and is definitely a focal bead.

The Cherry Blossom Small is half the size of the Cherry Blossom Large, and not as wide either.  It has the blossom and branch detailing as well but the background is heavily darkened to emphasize the raised flowers.  This one is perfect to wear on a bracelet as it’s closer in size to a regular charm.  It might not have the gravitas as the Large but it still makes an impact at almost half the price.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about these pieces, they are fabulously detailed and so beautiful.  The beads are small cored which means that they will only fit on Trollbeads or bracelets without threading.  Eske Storm maintains an online shop where these are shipped from Denmark.  I’ve always received my charms quickly and efficiently from Eske.  I can’t wait to get more from this brand for their creative designs!

I LOVE these beads. They’re too pricey for me but I Love. Every. One. Of. Them.

    Beautiful bracelet!

I love them too, and the price doesn’t bother me. It’s comparable to Trollbeads so is it bad that I’ve become partially immune to the cost of these things? Lol.

Gorgeous bracelet, Leann! I’m putting the top bead on my wish list.

So beautiful! Thanks for showcasing them on a bracelet, it gives me a great idea for the sizes of his beads.

Just a review , i purchase a bead from Eskestorm on 20oct and wrote to him for a VAT refund which was agreed not to be deduct from my Credit card. End up it was deducted but was promise a refund (which was annoying since amount is smaller due to exchangerate and stuff but fine since mistake can occur). that was more than a week ago and nothing has come in.
No email communication despite daily reminder which is extremely frustruating. Even though the bead seems beautiful but i will avoid the brand or go to a third party website hosting his beads instead.

Hi Jeana, I’m so sorry to hear that! If you’re on Facebook, you can find Eske Storm and send him a message. I’ve found he’s more responsive via that medium. I hope you get your issue solved!
