Chamilia launched a selection of limited edition Disney Princesses this year, with one released per month since February 2014. I previously reviewed the first three dangles in the set, Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora. Today, I’m taking a look at the rest of the collection, Ariel, Jasmine, and Belle. No more Chamilia Disney charms are planned for the rest of the year and that could be due to Pandora taking over the license (but that’s speculation at this time).
The feedback for these designs has not been especially positive mainly because of the distorted expressions on the princesses’ faces. I attribute this to the polished silver background which didn’t do justice to the beauty of these characters – they’re highly reflective and don’t photograph well. Enamel is used to outline each lady’s features and hair, and Swarovski crystals are used to highlight their mane. The back of the pendants are engraved with the movie’s motto; Jasmine has “Follow Your Heart,” Ariel is “Let Your Dreams Sing,” and Belle’s theme is “Beauty Lies Within.”
My favorite from this set is Jasmine and she actually looks very pretty with a rather normal expression, and she also has jet Swarovskis lining her bodice. Ariel is a close second and her hair is a fiery red and the crystals enhance the brilliant. They each have their distinctive shapes mainly because of the hairstyle and they’re on the larger size for dangles. Again, because of the shiny finish they’re difficult to shoot so here’s my best try! They do look much better in person.
These have sold out at Chamilia headquarters, but can still be found at authorized retailers including Classic Beads. Chamilia is mostly compatible with Pandora and other brands, and these do indeed fit on Pandora bracelets. I finally got more Chamilia Disney charms between the last review and now so I’ve added these designs to my other Disney beads. Have you gotten any of these princesses?
