While photos leaked of the Pandora Spring 2013 collection a few months back, today we take a look at exactly what the charms will be for the first part of spring. In the US and Canada, the spring collection will be split into two separate releases; for the first part of the spring collection the official release is March 11th with the Mother’s Day collection following shortly on April 15th. However, it is expected that the UK (and other countries) will most likely see these two sets released together and sooner as Mothering Sunday (UK’s Mother’s Day) is coming up on March 10th. The themes for spring is overwhelmingly of cherry blossoms and fairy tales, with some gardening and lifestyle charms thrown in as well. I am highly anticipating the cherry blossom themed charms, especially the pink cherry blossom Murano, and the two-tone fairy tale charms. The detailing on the bottom of the Princess Castle is revealed with this image – there is a crown on the bottom which is fantastic! The back of the fairy tale book is engraved with a princess kissing a frog; not very visible in the tiny stock photo, but thanks to Julia Lorber at Stereo|typically Me, we have a nice live shot of the charm below.
The spring collection (including Mother’s Day) will debut some absolutely stunning glasswork from Pandora. I’m glad to see that they are taking a different direction with their glass. The rumor is that they have hired glass artists from Trollbeads to take over the designs for these lampwork beads and I wholeheartedly agree with this decision! We can see the examples of their skill in the new blue and pink Murano drops, which include speckled inclusions. Pandora invited various German fashion bloggers to a luncheon event unveiling the spring collection in Vienna (why don’t we have those here? lol.). Julia Lorber from Stereo|typically Me and Sonja Petrkowsky from Fashiontweed took wonderful pictures from the event and they have graciously granted me permission to show their photos of the collection, so please do not reproduce. In fact, each blogger received a free bracelet and the fairy tale charm, lucky them! The red enamel gardening charms are not as ghastly as I expected from the first stock pictures I saw; they aren’t as bulky or childish as they seemed and I can see the appeal they could have for some. I really like the fan dangle, even though I haven’t been wild about Pandora putting out so many dangling charms lately and I think the scissors and comb will be similarly tasteful.
I will update you all with the prices for this collection as I receive the information. Look for the previews on the Pandora Spring 2013 jewelry collection (including rings, pendants, and earrings) and the Pandora Mother’s Day 2013 collection soon.
