One of the things that got me into seriously collecting Pandora was the moment when I saw the Pandora staff charm. It doesn’t really have a name, sometimes referred to as “Pandora Life”, “Pandora Pride”, or the best one I’ve heard from a Pandora employee is “gibumblelion”. It’s a chimera creature with the body of a lion, head of a giraffe, and the wings of a bumblebee. These three animals represent the values of Pandora; lion for pride (a group of lions), giraffe for passion, and the bumblebee for performance. These charming creatures were given out to Pandora corporate employees last summer at a sales conference (for the US).
It was my fondest wish to be able to own one of these charms at some point and that dream came true a few weeks ago! I got my hands on the staff charm and I was OVER THE MOON! I’ve heard that Pandora doesn’t allow their employees to sell these charms while they’re with the company, so collectors that have gotten them have been extremely lucky!
I always thought it was weird to name your charms, but honestly, I needed to name this little guy since I kept referring to him so often. My husband actually came up with the name – Archibald, “Archie” for short, and I thought it was perfect! He’s on my double leather bracelet with only two clips and two spacers. I ended up putting some silicone o-rings on either side of him so that the spacers wouldn’t bang against him. It really is silly how happy these pieces of silver can make me.
Have I said it?! I LOVE him! Here are pictures of the brochure that came along with the staff charm when they were given out (pictures courtesy of Tiffany Livismom):

I am soo JEALOUS of you! I want this little guy:(
XD.
So happy for you and Archie to have found each other. Love at first sight!
Also, would love the concept animals. They look like Chia Pets!
Ditto . . . I would love to have the lion!
Congrats on acquiring Archie!…you deserve it…your work here is very much appreciated!
So cute! That would look great with your other animal themed bracelet. Also I just wanted to ask you if you ever purchased any Pandora from Nordstrom? I purchased some (only 2 beads) and they came with a white draw string pouch which is a bonus as the Pandora concept store only wraps my purchases in the little cardboard box.
Thanks, Kim! I actually went to my local Nordstrom and they aren’t carrying Pandora D:. They mentioned something about having problems with the displays, so probably wouldn’t be getting them.
Thanks Leann for a great blog, i thoroughly enjoy reading it. Archie is gorgeous, lucky you to have him!
Super jealous of this one – congratulations, Leann! He’s adorable
I think he’s on most “wish lists” but firmly into the category of “keep dreaming”
I am so envious of you, i would really love to have one of thoses charms.
I am also very happy that you received this charm.
Enjoy it for all of us.
Love the name”Archie” it really suited him!!! Congratulation for having him & I’m sure he will got lots of LTC.. <3
Where did you find it???? GREAT
Wow!! And if you don’t mind me asking, since he was so rare, how much was he?
Thank you, everyone! I was super lucky to have found him
. It was actually kind of an anonymous sale online. He’s worth every penny
.
Hi there. Which website do you go to , to get this rare items? Absolutely love your blog.
Hi Lily, I usually check on ebay for the rare beads.
I found an ebay sale on this object tonight as I was surfing around extremely cheap but way out of my current budget. I then went looking and found where he has gone for almost triple that amount in the past few months (or is currently doing so here in Australia)…. Found this blog & bookmarked it very helpful site so Thanks Leean…
I read somewhere that his name is “Winiper” but you can call him whatever you like.
The charm doesn’t have a name since it was never sold in retail. He is very expensive now!
I dream about owning one someday! but they are so freaking expensive on ebay! would you mind me asking how much you paid for yours?
They are pricey :/. I got mine for a reasonable amount
.
There is a staff charm on ebay at the moment for sale in Australia! I hope he doesn’t go for too much, I have been dying to buy one for ages!
Good luck!
Does any of you know the product number of this charm??
I’m not sure if it has one but when, than it would be nice to know !!
Thanks !!
There’s no product number because it is not available for retail sale.
