Today we’re celebrating Earth Day! Earth Day always falls on April 22nd, and it’s an annual event that is recognized and celebrated in over 175 countries all over the world. The goal of Earth Day is to increase awareness and appreciation for nature and the environment, and to encourage people to “think green”. While the holiday was originally conceived in the United States in 1970, it has since spread internationally with the help and oversight of the Earth Day Network.
Pandora has adopted a very ecologically responsible position toward their products. Did you know that the Pandora’s wood Muranos were specially designed to use renewable and sustainable materials? Pandora wood beads are made with Canopy Wood products only. Canopy Wood is a certification that requires that the entire production process be up to sustainability and human rights standards laid out in their code of conduct. This ultimately means that the beautiful materials used in these wooden Muranos are more expensive than other less sustainable woods, but it’s well worth it to ensure the long-term health of the environment and our planet.
Here in Seattle we try to think green every day — we reuse, recycle, and compost more than any other city I’ve seen. When I first moved here it was a little tough to remember to separate all of my trash, especially when I’m out and about and just want to toss my empty soda bottle away, but eventually you learn to love it
. Happy Earth Day everyone!

Don’t own any wood bead yet, but with the animal print muranos coming out in July, I think I may get 3 of the woods to mix with them. Thanks to you, I know and can plan an entire new bracelt around the beads. I’ll have to wait and see the animals prints in persoon for color to be able to select the woods that best co-ordinate. Thank you so much for your blog.
I would love to see pictures of all your collection.
Smiles.
