When I went in my Pandora store about a month ago, I was told that a bunch of charms and other jewelry pieces had been retired recently. When I went in my Pandora store again yesterday, I was told that earlier in the week Pandora had sent over another large list of charms to be retired! The store was sent the list in the morning and had to ship all the beads to corporate by 5 pm. The rationale for this new wave of retired charms is to make way for the new collection (no firm date for the release has been set). Most of the jewelry that are on the chopping block for this round of retirement are the gold charms (so many gold charms gone!), Compose earrings, the Liquid Silver, and Love Pod collections.
Courtesy of a charms addict, I was able to get my hands on a near comprehensive list of the new retired beads! I’ve reorganized the list so that the appropriate jewelry pieces are all in their own section, but it’s quite a few to go through.
With the spring/summer Floral Nostalgia collection, the charms are to be rearranged in their trays as well; I didn’t even know Pandora dictated the placement of the charms. As far as I can tell, only a handful of silver beads are getting the price reductions – the frog ($25 from $30), butterfly bead ($25 from $30), kitty cat (looks like a bunny to me, lol; $25 from $30). The Muranos are going to be dropping from $40 to $35, but not quite sure yet if ALL the Muranos will be getting the price reduction.
While I was in my store, I ended up buying the Kiss Me, I’m Irish bead; my sobriety ended on Day 21
. I just couldn’t resist! The color of the bead is very cool – more of a teal, bluish green glass than straight up green. To be honest, this one wasn’t on my wish list of the new charms and I can’t say that the “exclusivity” of the bead didn’t influence me. Try as I might, I couldn’t really find any other Murano or stone in the store that came anywhere close to that color. The good news is that it’s available at the new price $35! Look for it in my upcoming St. Patrick’s Day post
.

The birthday blooms seem to be getting a reduction also. They are now listed on pandoramoa.com at 65 instead of 75.
Yay! I love those, I still need to get a bunch
.
What are they going to do with all those returned retired charms?
From what I understand, Pandora HQ smelts these retired pieces to recover their precious metals. This makes sense given the fluctuating costs of gold and silver.
790649 is the same color as the kiss me I’m Irish bead. The green flowers for you.
We can get the Kiss Me I’m Irish murano in Canada too.
